I wouldn't have thought it before but if you look at Kobe's stats and you look at Wade's stats, you have to concede that Wade is every bit as good statistically as Kobe Bryant is.

In fact, if you look at age, Wade's stats so far are even better than Kobe's when he was in his 7th season.

Is anyone going to disagree with the fact that if it was Wade playing on those Lakers teams instead of Kobe that Wade would ALSO have 5 rings right now and that Kobe would just have 1 IF THAT?

Kobe couldn't win it with Shaq in '02 and '03 but when Wade got the same Shaq - an older Shaq - they won the title, but unlike those Shaq-Kobe Lakers title teams, it was actually WADE who main-manned that title.

KOBE DID NOT MAIN MAN A SINGLE TITLE HE WON WITH O'NEAL. IN OTHER WORDS 3 OF KOBE'S 5 CHAMPIONSHIPS CAME RIDING ON SHAQUILLE O'NEAL'S BACK.

We've all seen how many titles Kobe won when he was the only good player there (from 04-06).

0. Nada. Bagel. None. Squa doosh.

It's only when you surround him with Shaq's and Gasol's and Odom's and Artests' and Bynum's and not to mention an extremely controversial series with the Kings that resulted in one of those so-called rings.

The hard cold facts don't lie. Dwyane Wade is every bit as good as Kobe Bryant, if not even better.

Wade's career ppg average is higher than Kobe's.

I agree he's just as good. Placed in Kobe's spot he would have won the same amount of titles.

I'm telling you guys. Wade is better!

First 7 seasons:

Kobe: 7.6 ppg 1.3 apg 1.9 rpg
Wade: 16.2 ppg 4.5 apg 4.0 rpg

Kobe: 15.4 ppg 2.5 apg 3.1 rpg
Wade: 24.1 ppg 6.8 apg 5.2 rpg

Kobe: 19.9 ppg 3.8 apg 5.3 rpg
Wade: 27.2 ppg 6.7 apg 5.7 rpg

Kobe: 22.5 ppg 4.9 apg 6.3 rpg
Wade: 27.4 ppg 7.5 apg 4.7 rpg,

Kobe: 28.5 ppg 5.0 apg 5.9 rpg
Wade: 24.6 ppg 6.9 apg 4.2 rpg

Kobe: 25.2 ppg 5.5 apg 5.5 rpg
Wade: 30.2 ppg (led league) 7.5 apg 5.0 rpg

Kobe: 30.0 ppg 5.9 apg 6.9 rpg
Wade: 26.6 ppg 6.5 apg, 4.8 rpg

For their first 4 seasons Wade beats him in nearly every category every year (except rebounds one season).

But that's not what we're talking about.

We don't know what's going to happen this year. We don't even know if Miami Thrice is going to work.

What we're talking about are seasons 1-7 for Kobe and Wade.

Wade is better.

If you're going to say that Kobe rode Shaq's back to 3 titles, I'm going to say that Wade is riding Lebron's back to win some more titles. Because Wade's Miami teams have absolutely sucked except for that 1 miracle year when Dallas choked away the finals.

Stats don't tell the whole story.

I have always had a strong dislike for Kobe Bryant, and Dwyane Wade used to be my favorite player. But there's no way that Wade was as good as Bryant was when he was in his prime.

A lot of people think Wade has passed up Bryant now that Kobe has started to decline, but I'm not quite sure I agree with that.

That is extremely misleading.

First off, Bryant was 17 or 18 in his rookie season. Wade was already 22 in his. Obviously, Wade was more "NBA-ready" than Bryant was.

Look at the minutes played in that first season, as well.

Kobe Bryant would average about 30-35 points per-game if he did not need to share shots with Shaquille O'Neal from 2000-2004.

What about all those other seasons?

Kobe chose to come out of High School.

What we're looking at are NBA statistics.

Wade's are overall superior.

Nope.

What we are looking at are cherry-picked statistics... by you... to make Dwyane Wade seem better than Kobe Bryant when he really isn't.

And I'm not even one to defend Bryant... especially in a Wade comparison.

I'm not trying to defending Kobe, but there are a lot of variables in that statline comparison that do not support your conclusion.

Unless you just made this post to get some poster's wheels spinning and watch shit fly all over the place. I don't know how someone can believe that Wade is/was better than Kobe. Comparable, yes, absolutely, but better?

It has never once been my intention to do that. I simply viewed the stats and arrived at a sincere, genuine conclusion that I was looking at something I never noticed before.

You all are really telling me that Wade's STATISTICS are not superior to Kobe's so far?

Take a look at them.

And also, you call my post "crap" as if everything you say is always right, as if everything you post is gold, as if you are incapable of writing anything that isn't good.

Come on man. Don't be an elitist.

Come on man. Don't be an elitist.

I never knew that Wade once scored at least 50 points in 4 consecutive regular season games.

I didn't know Wade scored 81+ points in a single game.

I didn't know Wade had 5+ rings and 2+ Finals MVP awards.

See? Anybody can cherry pick to make one player seem better than another.

You stated that Wade is as good as Kobe, possibly better. That is crap man, and you know it.

If Wade played on those Lakers teams instead of Kobe he would have 5 rings, possibly 6 by now.

Wade main-manned a team with Shaq on a title team. Kobe never main-manned a title team when he played with Shaq.

Shaq was already breaking down by the time Wade main-manned that team and you know it.

Please name me one thing that D-Wade can do on the court that Kobe cannot.
