According to Dwyane Wade, the decision to re-sign with Miami wasn't an easy one.
The basketball star joined Chicago Tribune Live today and wasn't shy about his respect for his hometown team. Although he ultimately made the decision to play for the Heat, Wade had a difficult time saying no to the Bulls.
"It was very tough, it was one of the hardest decision I had to make in my life," Wade explained in reference to his visit to Chicago two years ago.
"I'm a Chicago guy and I grew up idolizing the Chicago Bulls, idolizing Michael Jordan and wanted to wear that jersey. So the day I went for the Chicago visit and they gave me the No. 3 jersey, I mean, that day messed me up. I went back home and I had the jersey on and, I mean, I turned into a kid again."
Wade says that at that moment, he thought the chance of him returning to the Windy City really could happen. Although it didn't, Wade continues to stay involved with the city of Chicago and maintains a lot of respect for the Bulls.
