According to Dwyane Wade, the decision to re-sign with Miami wasn't an easy one.

The basketball star joined Chicago Tribune Live today and wasn't shy about his respect for his hometown team. Although he ultimately made the decision to play for the Heat, Wade had a difficult time saying no to the Bulls.

"It was very tough, it was one of the hardest decision I had to make in my life," Wade explained in reference to his visit to Chicago two years ago.

"I'm a Chicago guy and I grew up idolizing the Chicago Bulls, idolizing Michael Jordan and wanted to wear that jersey. So the day I went for the Chicago visit and they gave me the No. 3 jersey, I mean, that day messed me up. I went back home and I had the jersey on and, I mean, I turned into a kid again."

Wade says that at that moment, he thought the chance of him returning to the Windy City really could happen. Although it didn't, Wade continues to stay involved with the city of Chicago and maintains a lot of respect for the Bulls.

Meh' I don't think he ever really thought that much into actually coming here. He more so entertained the thought.

At least he isn't Isiah. But then again, in Isiah's era, players were more a hell of a lot more loyal to the teams that drafted them.

Wade is a snake and he knew damn well that he wasn't coming here. I think the only reason he even "visisted" Chicago was to keep Joe Johnson from coming here at the time. The entire Big three thing was in works for a while. Lebron deciding to give up the number 23 while Miami already retired Jordan's number, Miami having all those expired contracts the moment Bosh and James were going to hit the market, Wade criticizing the organiztion about loyalty etc. Wade never thought about coming here

I don't believe him one bit, and I don't know how well he would have worked in Chicago. It would have been cool. Better than having Rip anyways... I think.

Ya, BS. He was in Chicago feeding the Chicago media what they wanted to hear. "I really wanted to play in Chicago, my hometown. Trust me, I really really wanted to. I just didn't though."

I'm glad he didn't come to Chicago either. He's a punk. He's probably my least liked NBA player.

Wade is acting like it is the new norm what they did down in Miami when it really is not.

Lakers are together because of a badass GM.

Thunder/Spurs/Bulls built through the draft.

Celtics are kind of a mix of draft and trades, mostly trades but I can't put Ainge on the level of Kupchek just can't do it.

No Wade, you and your superfriends are alone in doucheville, enjoy your ring barely anyone cares about.

Man, that's not true. I'm sure all the retirees that live in Florida reacted a little something like this after they saw "The Lebron guy" beat "the blue and orange team":

He was never a Bulls fan growing up. Also, when I was looking to purchase season tickets that summer, I was told not to because Wade had something big he was planning.

Still will never know why he and Lebron didn't want to come to Chicago together when that opportunity was certainly very real. They still would have had to accept less money, (unless the rumored Deng to Portland rumor went through) but you also had Derrick and Noah already on the roster, on their rookie contracts!

Think about it. Rose, Wade, Lebron, Gibson, Noah.

I was wondering when a thread was going to be created about this. Wade is a straight-up liar. He just needs to STFU. Not a single Chicagoan believes anything that he's said, whether it was about organizational loyalty or the "hardest decision in his life".

Isiah wanted to play for the Bulls too. He wanted them to draft him if I am not mistaken. I heard the story about him intentionally trying to botch the Pistons interview. They stopped the interview, told him they knew what he was doing...and told him they would draft him anyway...that is the story.
