I think Fangio is the best part of this coaching staff and will have the Bears back to being a pwer D within a couple of years. Not much faith in Fox and Gase though.

He is getting a lot out of limited talent.

The guys don't seem to make mental errors and they play tough.

I just hope Pace can get Fangio some pieces. We need dynamic play makers. Its been nice seeing Goldman and Ferguson show some signs. Would be really nice to have Christian Jones become a legitimate core piece going forward.

You mean to tell me that after 11 or so years of Jerry Angelo, you weren't happy to at the very least have a new face at GM?

AMEN, Invader! Amen to that! I struggled w/many of Angelo's picks right off the bat (Colombo), was irked over his pick of David Terrell, but after the Michael Haynes pick? That one convinced me he was a straight buffoon!

He was saying something along the lines of when you have a new scheme, new coaches, different culture, a different way of running practices, etc. that guys will buy in at first, but when you are losing it's harder for them to buy in. So he was saying the win was important in that sense.

So exactly as the metaphor.

Yeah. I wasn't disagreeing. Just expanding on what you said. I wasn't very clear.

wanny knows what hes talking about because he realized fangio > tucker?

anyway, i like fangio a lot, and one thing ive noticed, despite the D not being very good due to lack of talent, is that they are violent. thats one thing i always admired about his 9ers D and was looking forward to. and you can see glimpses of it with the bears now, when they hit you they are starting to make sure you feel it.

and I think gase is an excellent OC, hes simply handicapped right now. fox is fox and im not a big fan, but i like his staff.

I'll never let this forum forget that almost everyone here was firmly on the Emery/Trestman bandwagon

1) You're sad 2) A LOT of people were on that bandwagon across the NFL and 3) the two are mutually exclusive in that you could have been on that bandwagon to start and still think Pace/Fox and co. have done a great job so far.

Get over it.

I have been incredibly pleased with how well coached they look.

-They play hard and don't give up
-They win with scheme
-They play above their talent level

We could not say any of those last season.

exactly and I expected this I just let my hopes get too high...I was convinced there was more talent here than there was the bad coaching was holding us back but not as badly as I thought

You're always on the nutsack of whoever Ted Phillips and the McCaskeys hire. Also, your signature betrays your Jay Cutler dick riding. Your intelligence=0.

Correcto. That was Hatley's last 1st round pick. Of course, the fact that he was allowed to run a draft while ownership knew he was taking a position with the Packers just shows how much the McCassholes (other than the years Loves boys made the postseason) have turned the most popular and over-covered team in this city into an NFL laughingstock. Pace, Fox, and his assistants have a lot of work ahead of them.

And he seems to be having some early success with Adrian Amos, which is a good sign for a team that needs the last draft to be a good one.

I want to see how this regime does by building around it's own new QB, if they have the brains to draft one. It's going to take a lot more than just 1 win at home against a franchise that hasn't been to the postseason in 10+ years to convince me. I don't how anyone could call this team well coached. They have a QB they know damn well they aren't going to win anything with, then when he went down, instead of going with an unknown like Fales, they went with a QB that they knew was completely horrible, gave them no chance to win at all, & was worse than anyone could imagine Cutler being, with Clausen. Not to mention the defensive play calling against a pretty bad Seattle offense at that point in the season was also pretty bad.

Like another poster said, it's only been 4 games. I don't expect much at this point. I want to see what happens once Pace really starts to turn over the roster & brings in a significant number of his own picks, especially at QB.

Oh & give Marty Bennett the deal he wants. IMO he's one of the most complete, if not the most complete TE's in football. The Bears should keep him long term, make him a team captain on offense & tailor a passing attack around him. He is that good. I can't believe a 1 dimensional TE like Graham can get a big long term deal but the Bears have to ponder on the idea of doing so for Bennett, who is almost, if not just as good as a receiver as Graham, & is a MUCH better blocker. If anything I believe the Bears should be looking to keep Bennett & even ad another good TE. I thought Charles Clay would have made the perfect addition last off season..

For me I want to see what happens next year with a new QB. If they get a new QB with more young players & show progress I'll be content.

I think a lot of fans like to be fans and are positive until shown otherwise. Our dogs don't duck when we go to pet them. Of course that didn't take long with that last regime. D was always a disaster.
