you forgot Fresca.

Yep, product placement although I don't think this helped Fresca sales.

My dad got HBO with cable when I was a Sophomore in High School. I think they played this movie twice a day every day for the three years I lived there before joining the Army at 18. I would get pissed off when I would click HBO and see it on again, and again, and again. It was usually on at 2AM when I was up hoping to see some boobies. Instead we watched this. Dad was smart enough not to get Skinamax in those days. I still remember the little push button remote with the little wheel on the side to help bring in the fuzzy stations with early cable. If you worked it right you could almost bring in the 'blocked' channels like the Playboy channel. Nothing like seeing purple wiggly boob when you were 15 years old.

This whole internet thing has taken the mystery out of masterbation for my son. All he has to do is hide in his room with his smartphone. He never had to worry about his dad finding him with some skin mags (got tossed out of a SuperAmerica gas station once for looking at the Swank Mags), or seeing if you could make out boobs in the JC Penny Catalogue, or trying to get that purple wiggly boob to dial in at 2am.

Crystal Pepsi is a funny one. We used to buy them a lot. And the reason it came out, was because there was a stigma at the time that white soda's were healthier. Like your 7up, Sprite, 50/50 and gingerale types. So Pepsi wanted to jump on that trend, as wrong as it was, and made Crystal Pepsi.

We used to buy it a lot, for the short amount of time it was out. Same reason we bought Coke II. Because the companies were pushing it so hard, it was always on sale. Not because it was better. Although I don't think Crystal Pepsi was all that bad.

My favorite pop from my yewt was Verner's and Frosty's rootbeer. Would get Verners at summer camp in Michigan and the Frosty's rootbeer when I visited grandma in iowa. Now you can get those just about anywhere in the US, but back in the 70s they were regional brands, don't remember seeing them at Eagle, Jewel-Osco or Dominicks when I was growing up.

I heard it's supposed to be making a comback...along with Surge.

Was able to find the New York Seltzers here about a month ago.

Personally though, I'd cut off my upper left nut if I could find a reliable US distributor of Kofola. Every time my in-laws bring or ship some it invariably goes flat.

Classic 80s movie with good actors, cool story, and groovy 80s music. I'm gonna join the party and watch that gem. Good find!

Damn AussieBear! You are on on fucking fire right now!!!! Better of Dead was a hilarious movie that I still watch all the time Cusac was perfect for that role as was Booger from Revenge of the Nerds. The typical blond preppie bully was classic and the french girl was cute! Great 80s montage as well!

BTW...the dad was the best and absolutely HOUSED the son at the dinner table.

"Right off" LMFAO!

It had to have been 84 or early 85. I know I joined the Army in late 85. I can't exactly remember exactly when it was on. Most of those brain cells have been pickled over the course of my life.

All I do remember was it seems to be on constantly. It was like that one song you loved until the radio station played the piss out of it. Then you got to the point where it was 'Not this frikkin song again!'
