Yeah the Bears definitely need mid round picks more than a franchise QB. How could we live without the likes of Deandre Houston Carson or Deon Bush. You want the Bears to become relevant? They need a QB not depth or role players.

Thanks for letting us know the Mitch "Mitchell" is a Franchise QB.

As of right now he only has 1pick tomorrow. Then he has to wait for 81 picks before he can try again. FYI he doesn't have a 6th rd pick either.

Yeah but look at the board. No denying we'll have a shot at a quality player on defense in the 2nd round.

Marcus Williams
Kevin King
TJ Watt
Malik McDowell
Teez Tabor

There are at least 4-5 guys on defense who would be instant helpers for us.

They need 3 instant "helpers" on defense plus a TE & OL. They will run out of picks and quality picks.

Want to remind me again when was the last 4th or 5th round pick that stuck to the roster turning out to be impactful?

The ironic thing is, the picks that we traded away and are the cause for so many fans' frustration at Pace are only valuable because Pace has shown that he can find talent throughout the draft.

Here's the last 2 years of 3rd and 4th round picks under Pace...

Bullard (sucks)
Kwiatkoski (decent, shows promise)
Bush (? did he even play last year)
---------------------
Grasu (? injured, whitehair took his job)
Langford (sucks)

I think we can afford to give up these type of players for a potential franchise QB. Also there's a good chance Pace trades down to get more picks. He's actually shown to be better after the 4th round (basically just because of Howard, but hey gotta give him credit).

Yeah, let's be like the Browns and amass a shitload of picks and be stuck with Osweiler and Kessler. This is from a ESPN article:

In other words, if you like a quarterback, do whatever you can to get him. If you want to get cute -- if you only want one at the exact price you establish and consider yourself disciplined when you shy away from aggressive bids -- you become ...

The Cleveland Browns: America's most disciplined losers

The Browns have the first part right: Draft success is largely about the quantity of picks. So it's great that they will have seven more picks in this draft and then five selections (and counting) in the first two rounds of the 2018 draft.

But failing to use any of them on a high(er)-end quarterback will doom them in the short- and mid-term. Unless you think the Browns can grow with 2016 third-rounder Cody Kessler or -- gasp -- recent acquisition Brock Osweiler, it's difficult to see how they can move forward while continuing to slow-play the position.

The Browns have outsmarted themselves. It's fine to be selective, but the Browns have been waiting for their pitch for two years. Barring a trade for a veteran more promising than Osweiler, they won't address the position in a substantive way until 2018 at the earliest -- the third year in the tenure of their current brain trust. They did acquire three talented players Friday night -- defensive end Myles Garrett, safety Jabrill Peppers and tight end David Njoku -- but without a quarterback, their impact will be contained.
