So, your probobly all thinking i'm nuts. Maybe I am. But read Sam Smith today:
http://www.nba.com/bulls/news/smith_091116.html
He makes a ton of great reasons why the Hornets should seriously consider trading Chris Paul and you know what....I agree with him. The Hornets are up shit creek and keeping Paul on their roster means that all they are doing is trying to appease him, which will be almost impossible to do, with their crappy team, crappy salary cap outlook and being too mediocre to most likely get a top 3 pick in any draft.
Ok, so after reading Sam's article and understanding the rationale of WHY New Orleans would want to trade Paul, why wouldnt the Bulls be the best of suitors!?!? As far as youth, you won't get anything for Chris Paul better then a crappy teams #1 picks in a few drafts. Then you will get some expiring contracts to make the money work. If your trading Paul, you DO NOT want a expensive star. That's the whole reason your trading CP3 in the first place. Anyways, say the Bulls come and offer Rose and XXXXX to make a deal. WHy wouldnt New Orleans consider this!?!!? Derrick Rose is a reigning Rookie of the Year and was a highly touted #1 pick. Odds are that even if you get the next 3 picks from a New York KNicks (as an example), not 1 of them will be a #1 pick and none of them would be as good as Derrick is, or is projected to be. On the flip side of that, Derrick is on his rookie contract and won't be getting paid for another 3 years. That gives you ample time to try to blow things up and build a core.
The biggest "if" here is obviously, New Orleans desire to trade Paul. Let's assume they did want to trade him, for the sake of the argument. Can anyone tell me why the Bulls wouldnt be the best of suitors?
