Sounds about right. The Avalanche are a weird franchise. There's a lot of people out there that aren't native to the area so a lot of them aren't super passionate about their team.
I've been to 5 games in Denver... a few Hawks games where it felt like Chicago fans out numbered Avs fans and a pair of playoff games where my brother and I were looked at like weirdos for standing and cheering after a goal.
Of course, the fact that they've had a horrible season really doesn't things. Can't really blame the announcers for checking out early I guess :nope:
