I think if Rose and Noah can keep up there level of play, we will get a star. If we can have a stong finish and competitive playoff series it will get someone to bite.

What disturbs me the most is we just have no clue what a winner is too him. Last year this team finished extremely well and nearly beat the celtics and we let our best player go. A couple of years ago the team came off of it most success post Jordan and we wouldn't pay the LT for a real pf we desperately needed in Gasol. I just don't know what a winning team is to JR. If its a title team, then we will never be a winning team with about 1/3 of the LT tied up in Deng and Kirk. Thats what bothers me the most about that statement.

I agree but if you ask anyone in the league, they don't care about Deng. Rose has taken that place and I think if Noah gets more press, he will be a huge assest. Rose and Noah are a good foundation for any star to want. We just need another major complimentary piece. I think BG could have been that but thats not really an option.

It's hard to say that a star has been born when Rose is still below 50 TS% for the season, but like others have said, it looks like Rose has finally gotten it. He is attacking the defense with his drive, he is confident in the midrange shots he takes, and he has very much become a one man fastbreak, ala Rajon Rondo. In addition, he's no longer a defensive liability, which has helped a lot.

But I think the fact remains, for Rose to become a superstar, he will need to gain a respectable three point shot in order to score the ball efficiently.

Rose does not need to be a great 3pt shooter to be a superstar. It's quite clear that no one in this league can stay in front of this kid, in the open court or half court. He can get to the rim whenever he wants with his combo of speed, atheleticism, & strength. Rose is never going to be a good 3pt shooter anyway. His shot is just way too flat. It impresses me that he shoots the midrange so well considering the lack of lift on his shot. If Rose can consistently get to the line like he's been doing, him knocking down 3's at a 35% clip is not that necessary. Just get him a decent 3pt shooter he can kick to & he'll be fine.
