When I go out to restaurants and they give you coasters, I salt the coaster just a bit with the salt shaker and then the cups do not stick to the coasters.

Idk if this would help you since it sounds like you are at home and salting the coaster could create more mess than its worth..... at the restaurant someone has to wipe down the table anyhow so its nbd.

I'll reply to you both and thanks for the tip, but we are lucky to get a used beer mat over here these days, but I would hope the classier joints (the ones I rarely visit these days ) that would work a treat. In this case it's a mug of tea, but on saying that I am going to try it. Spilling tea is never cool and spilling it over your bits and pieces is even less fun. I'm also a clumsy bugger to boot.

I really have very little patience for people who don't walk a straight path down a busy sidewalk. I have a high motor, so I try to get around people that can't maintain a decent pace and those fucking zigzaggers downtown chicago really grind my gears.
