Forge of Darkness - Steve Erickson

Regarding Cormac McCarthy, Blood Meridian is a good read. Kind of new spin on the Western genre.

McCarthy is fantastic,I will admit I didn't like the road though.

Just finished the book War by Sebastian Junger.

Was actually recommended by a poster here. It is about the Korengal Valley in Afghanistan. Basically the worst/best place to go if you are in the military. Worst if you don't like bullets flying at you, best if you love killing shit. It really takes a look at what the men in combat go through and it was a quick easy read that sucked me in.

Watch restrepo. It's a documentary of soldiers fighting in korengal. Really good watch. Shows footage of it and then them talking about it.

That's crazy! Restrepo is an outpost in the book named after a soldier that dies during an ambush during the writing of the book.

Very very interesting story about brotherhood. I will watch that documentary.

Yeah it's basically about the squad restrepo was in. Shows footage of restrepo and he seemed like a funny kid
