Never gave Nick Cave much of a chance until I saw Wim Wenders' Wings of Desire.

I've never seen the end of that. My copy cut off right when he goes searching for her at the bar and Nick Cave is playing. I don't think there's much more to it, maybe like five minutes?

I bet whoever made the copy did it on purpose. I always found the end a bit weak in relation to the rest of the film. Whenever you do get a chance to watch the end, let me know if it made for a better watch. Good film regardless. Always liked Bruno Ganz. Very expressive face.

Not usually a fan of boogie woogie, but it's Danny Gatton.

Well this evening has turned out a whole lot better, good music, a drop of good drink and the job search hasn't been half as boring as it normally is! I have to be honest I have never heard of Ahmad Jamal, but based off this track alone sunday holds hope for me!

Cheers Nick.

I've always appreciated musicians with a sense of space, as well as the shredders. Different approaches to the instrument. Oscar Peterson as opposed to Ahmad Jamal, or Danny Gatton and John Scofield.

Deft touch.

Hope the Bears contribute your proper Sunday.

I was lucky enough (depending on how you interpret lucky) to see him the year he played at Glastonbury. Grinderman is/was an awesome project.

I got to meet him in L.A. Cool dude. Also got to catch the Bad Seeds at the Beacon in NY and at Lollapalooza in 1994.

Malcore, I've been trying to find a version of Goodbye Pork Pie Hat that Scofield (I think) and another guitarist (John McLoughlin maybe) played on. I heard it years ago and had it on tape but haven't been able to find it since

Ole I don't know. I'm not aware of any Scofield recording of that song, unless you mean the version from Three or Four Shades of Blues. Scofield plays on that album, but not on that song. Larry Coryell plays on it though. Was it acoustic or electric, with or without horns, live or studio?

I'll have to finish the guitar theme tonight with some rare Bill Frisell.

Acoustic. Thanks for the tunes...good stuff.

This is what I'm listening to lately and I'm not proud of it.
