I give my little sister money for her birthday every year. her b'day is relatively close to Christmas, and she lives out of town, so this year, she gets her birthday gift before we open Christmas gifts tomorrow morning.
I've put 100 index cards, 40 empty envelopes, 20 sheets of random paper, and all the scraps from my paper shredder in a shoebox. I've taped two index cards together, with a dollar bill between them, in the hopes that she finds it and spends another 10 minutes senselessly searching through the rubbage.
at the bottom of one of the sides of the box, I've written "to find your money, look for cold, hard cash."
It'll take her forever to see it. It's written small in a strange place at the bottom of a box of junk.
In the freezer, I've got a huge block of ice in a Tupperware container, with $25 wrapped in foil in the middle of it.
With our family, you work for your money.
