I just resumed the annual ritual of ordering flowers for my Mom, Maternal Grandmother, and Godmother, after they asked I skip the last 2 years due to covid.
The more valuable gift I offered my Mom and 2 Sisters was to smoke a brisket and bring it to serve for dinner at my one Sister's house.
They chose hamburgers and hot dogs over brisket because they want to eat at 2pm so the kids have more time to play.
Takes 16-20 hours of work off my plate, just kinda astounded at that choice.
Flowers rang in at about 180$ for all 3, so around 60$ per Mom.
If I were them I'd be like "Take that 180$ and buy the best piece of brisket you can find, then smoke it and we'll lock those fucking kids in the basement for a Mother's Day sleepover."
What do others spend, if at all, on Mother's Day?
