I think that is true, if they trade JJ, they will be good.
OK, so then, no one really knows?
I think that is true, if they trade JJ, they will be good.
Just bwant and see. It should come out in days now.
No. Thats no good.
What's not good?
I mean we will find the cap room shortly. I would think.
Max Contract is about 16 mill, our cap space after the Capt Kirk trade is about 31 mill, so we currently have enough to sign two for just under max, and if your signing two superstars, theres a good chance they wont mind making 500k less for a bunch of rings
For those quibbling Chi can't do 2 max deals: They can, and will, move James Johnson, which will give them the needed room.
My last tweet on this, for those talking about the cap in absolutes. The exact # isn't set til 7/7. Chi is close enough to get there.
Back to original point: w/S&Ts being preferred, full max room for 2 isn't as essential as it's made out to be. It's leverage, not conduit.
Hmmmm........I got a interesting respond by Ric Bucher who actually sent me a direct message after I tweet him saying that to him that I think he is wrong that move James Johnson won't be enough to get two max and here is respond.

3 gms, tonight alone, say yes it is. + i've had the #s broken down for me + they look right. so no offense, but i'm going with my sources.
It does make sense for the Clippers in some respects (they'll miss out on the top tier guys, and Deng will only cost them about 10 million a season due to his deferred payments making him cheaper than the 2nd tier FAs of similar ability.
Deng's contract honestly isn't that bad.
Deng has a max deferred contract. Which means he gets paid 70% of his cap value directly and the Bulls put 15% of his cap value in an annuity, which pays out double that over time.
Meaning, Deng's cap hit for this season is $10,370,425. So he gets paid around $7 million, with a 1 million annuity that will pay out to around $3 million dollars. So with that in mind, Deng gets paid by the team $8.5M for every $10M in cap hit, right?
So the rest of his four years would look something like:
2011 $9.64M
2012 $10.47M
2013 $11.36M
2014 $12.13M
For all the people that complain about Luol Deng's contract, it's really not that bad. Especially when you consider he's a 17 & 7 player, who plays/competes on defense, and is only 24 years old.
Yes, he's never going to be an all star or a goto option on offense, but he's still a good player and not nearly as overpaid as he's been made out to be.
RUMOR: Luol Deng/17th pick to Clippers for 8th pick.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As we close in on the draft, lots of stuff is being floated, some of it real, some of it fake. Here are a few things I've heard that make sense.
I've been told that the Los Angeles Clippers could trade their No. 8 pick to Chicago for Luol Deng and the Bulls' 17th pick. I haven't gotten confirmation on this from a team official, but this trade is feasible because I know the Clippers aren't enamored with any of the guys they can get with the eighth pick. Also, their biggest position of need is small forward. Adding Deng would give them a starting five of Baron Davis, Eric Gordon, Deng, Blake Griffin and Chris Kaman. That's pretty formidable. While this eats up most of the Clippers' cap space, they realize they weren't going to get one of the top-flight free agents anyway, certainly not if Donald Sterling refuses to sell the club.
For the Bulls, this would be an even greater move because they'd clear even more cap space by removing Deng's $10.3 million salary. When adding the $2.1 million they'd have to pay the eighth pick and subtracting the $1.3 million for their 17th pick, the Bulls would still be nearly $30 million under the cap. That's nearly enough to offer both LeBron James and Chris Bosh maximum contracts. To form a nucleus that would include James, Bosh, Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah, you'd think James and Bosh might be willing to give up $1 or $2 million.
Honestly, this deal sounds too good to be true for the Bulls (and yet it makes sense for the Clippers too). We'll see. I'm told the Clippers may also have interest in Detroit's Tayshaun Prince, or that if they keep the pick, they're looking at Al-Farouq Aminu.
Cleveland is trying hard to buy a draft pick and if the above scenario doesn't happen, they may buy the 17th pick from Chicago. One of the players the Cavs are targeting is Kentucky guard Eric Bledsoe, whom some believe could turn into a Rajon Rondo-type player.
So im not sure why these Deng pre draft quotes are floating around now. Fill me in.
