Played baritone, was switched to tuba against my will in high school. Wasn't hard to do, just had to get used to reading sheet music an octave lower. I just would've liked to have had the option. Also played in a summer band with the same director. For performances, I had to play a brass sousaphone. My shoulder still hurts just thinking about that thing.

Good choice.

Using chords is using real music..

I'll post a,link here later that will help.

lol still should learn how to read music. knowing a couple simple chords doesnt = real music.

Point is.. tabs.. not real music.. starting to learn notes and chords is learning to read music for the specific instrument.

Drums, but I had to sell my set in college and haven't played for a few years. I had a 5 piece low-end Pearl set, Zildjian Z custom cymbals, DW double pedal...it was fun. Played in a few metal bands during high school.

I'm going to get a set when we move to a bigger house in a couple years.

A friend of mine self taught himself to play bass when I took guitar lessons. I was an average player at best

But....he struggled at bass and took up to keyboards until he took MUSIC THEORY in college. He took it as a filler credit for his degree. He SWEARS by that class now, because he can now play Guitar, Bass, Keyboard and Drums.

He said that class helped him understand everything, and it was only 1/2 a semester.

Just saw this thread lol.

I played piano for a bit when I was little...hated it. But since my dad is a piano teacher, had to at least give it a shot. xD

Played saxophone from 4th-12th grade and now currently learning guitar/bass. More so guitar, but hoping to get more into bass once my friend brings his on campus after Thanksgiving.
