Think of the HUGE amount of money saved if only they required a drug test to receive benefits.

I don't care how much a drug screen costs, the amount of people disqualified would definitely pay for it and then some.

This would also cut down on crime.

Someone that hasn't worked in there life + endless free time + drugs = trouble.

That especially pisses me off to no end. For me to get a job I have to submit to a piss test but if I want to live on the welfare tit I don't have to be tested.

This is exactly what I was about to bring up. I hate the fact that drug testing is not a prerequisite to receiving assistant. And what I hate more, is the fact that it is not because they decided that it wasn't necessary to test, it's because THE FUCKING COURTS RULED IT UNCONSTITUTIONAL!!!!!!!! WHAT THE **** **** **** ****... It's unconstitutional to deny benefits to people who are maintaining a lifestyle that is not only harmful to themselves and the people paying for it, but IT IS ILLEGAL! THE GOVERNMENT IF FUNDING DRUG DEALERS.

I feel the same exact way. This country fucking sucks but it is still better than everywhere else. The shame is we accept mediocrity.

I actually agree with IHF, but you have to wonder: what are the real numbers on the abuses happening? Is this another case of one or two 'bad apple' stories getting a lot of press where in reality it is working for the thousands of others? Our government is really good at hiding the truth from the common constituent which allows corruption to occur, not abuse by recipients.
