What is your favorite cut of steak and seasoning? Also if you're in the Chicago land area where do you go to get your steak?
In before Crys: if you need to put so much seasoning on your steak, you don't know what you're doing.
Salt and pepper.
This is quoted for truth. Some of the best steak houses in America only use salt and pepper. As far as a cut, I'll go with New York Strip.

Ribeye, thick and fatty. Don’t skimp on the salt(and only salt) and cook that ***** rare/medium rare. ****, my drooling is making a mess...
The second picture in the OP kills me. I have no problem with maybe throwing in some coffee rub, but if it's a good cut of meat I don't know why you would sully it with anymore more than salt and pepper.
And anyone that cooks their steak longer than medium should be shot on sight...........

My parents liked medium-well so unfortunately i ate it like that for years.
Now i don't like anything above medium-rare.
That may be sacrilegious but I think we can all agree that steaks should never been cooked more than medium-rare (an internal temperature of 135 degrees F) or with ketchup how Donald Trump like his steak.

I do salt pepper and a little bit of oil... And yes I fork my steak before cooking. This is quoted for truth. Some of the best steak houses in America only use salt and pepper. As far as a cut, I'll go with New York Strip.
