What sort of resolutions have you made or will you be making for new years for 2018 and how likely are you to actually accomplish them?

I myself was realizing after the Thanksgiving holiday that I had added five lbs of extra weight and it was not good weight but fat weight around my belly from over-eating and having too much eggnog and also not really exercising at all as well, so I decided that I would make a Thanksgivings resolution instead of the traditional New-Year's resolution because I literally stop after like maybe 2 or three weeks of resoluting and this year is going to be different especially because I will have solid momentum going into the new year unlike prior years where it's kind of an after-thought after having too much "adult-beverages" during NYE celebratings. So starting today I'm literally going to "hit the gym" every day except for Sundays for at least 40 minutes even if it is broken up into 20 minutes in the morning and then the other remaining 20 of the 40 minutes total, in the evening or before bed. I will start by doing what they call a "bulking stage" because holidays have so many good meals to enjoy so why fight it? Right? ANd then I will begin my "CUT" where you lose the fat from all the food and "binge-eating" sometime in the new year, as a New Year's resolution follow-thru for the Thanksgivings resolution. By the early Spring or even earlier I intend to make that 5 lbs I gained over thanksgivings break into pure, noticeable muscle, and hopefully even 5 lbs more so at LEAST a total of 10 lbs of muscle mass I intend to have, mostly concentrated in my arms because as my mom's ex-boyfriend always said, "The bench press is a short man's lift" and I have literally never been able to grow pectoral muscle tissue naturally and refuse to do the steroids like my room-mate.

Is shocking your system with cold water before it's ready to wake up really that good of an idea? It seems like that would **** with your heart.

Not blindly believe the Bears will be good until around week 7 when reality slaps me in the face.

It works fine with your heart. If there are any concerns, just acclimate a little cooler every day until you're at straight cold. #1, cold running water is rarely ever THAT cold, and if it is, just add some hot water to bring it near 55 degrees in the winter(think swimming in the spring in the morning). #2, hot water damages(hence ages) your skin. Not only that, you can save a lot of water this way.

I don't do cold every time, but most of the time. There are benefits to hot showers too. Clearing excessive stuck earwax(all you all-day earbud users aren't going deaf, you're just getting plugged), opening up pores to dissolve excess electrolytes(salts), vapor therapy (shower with mint/camphor or a number of other oils, some found in everyday soap, it will open your throat and lungs a bit). I do two weeks cold, one day hot. Hot every day is just a bad idea, one done out of luxury. Same with showering every single day, shampoo every day, all of which puts more stress on your skin and a number of other organs than you would think.

You have to check this video out. This guy is referred to as "The Iceman". He has used meditation and deep breathing technique to endure the extreme cold and become more acclimated to it. Exposing yourself to it more makes it easier to do so in the future. Watch some of the stuff he's done and it's amazing. Holds the world record for being submerged in ice for the longest amount of time without his body temperature changing. It doesn't even end there with this guy. He can influence his immune system and raise his adrenaline level at will and has proven it.
