Well, so far the NHL has played outdoor games in stadiums of:

MLB
CFL

so maybe we should do a game at the Home Depot Center in LA.

Why is a Canadian team in the Winter Classic anyway, don't they still do the Heritage Classic?

Solider field

While I love the idea of 66,000 people screaming at a hockey game between those wonderful colonnades, I don't ever see this happening.

The main reason is timing. Winter Classic is always on January 1st. If you're the Bears, you intend to have your team still playing at that time. Trying to quickly build and dismantle a hockey rink on that grass surface would make it even worse for the playoff games (ideally) at Soldier Field. It'd be a different story if it was a turf field.
