I grew up with the Aeros. Saw Gordie Howe play for them way back in the day. Magic. Turned me into a hockey fan. Hartford Whalers to be specific, for obvious reasons.

I hope we never get an NHL team in Houston because I'll be forced to root against the Hawks or the Houston team, and either one of those would suck for me.

That's where you pick up Hawkeye Basketball. Its going to be a fun year. But I will be very disappointed in the Owners and Bettmen if they go to a lock out. I want hockey to thrive and it was gaining momentum. If they lock out again so quickly after missing an entire season less then a decade ago it could be devastating to the sports popularity.

maybe I will check them out. Im not a big NFL fan. I like the big ten as a casual fan, maybe I will give them a whirl.
