we had this talk before(before thanksgiving) & i flat out said no.... we talked about it again (in feb) & i didnt flat out say no so she took it as a full on hell yeah... checking out places to have it ... on bridal sites checking dresses, invites etc daily, asking me about best men & groomsmen & shit & i finally popped the bubble yesterday when i asked why the hell are you doing all this & i havent asked you the question or bought a damn ring

whats the exact problem with the wedding talk.

the tv scenario is creepy

the exact problem is shes ready now (as in if i say lets go to the courthouse & get er don she will be all for it)
& im nowhere near the place she is(shes at the point where the main excuse is were not getting any younger & im like WTF im going to be 24 next month not 44) ... if the wedding was a book im just now reading the table of contents & shes already finishing the index

basically shes trying to force my hand for lack of a better phrase

i love her & all that bs but im not going to be forced into a marriage just because shes ready now & her mom thinks its a great idea.... because if i tell you no not now but your friends & family are asking me about a date suppposeldy SET ALREADY for next yr something is wrong
& ftr the TV shit was very creepy last night

Perhaps an Omen? Marriage = Fail. :shurg:

Even at 44, still to young :troll: Unfortunately, theres no win/win situation in this scenario. At some point she'll throw the 'marry me or gtfo' card.

That's rough. I personally never wanna get married, so idk..

What would you do if you told her you don't wanna marry her now, and she burned all of your shoes?

my exact thoughts

do it when you are ready. all the non sense outside of your relationship should not have any influence on your choice. explain to her you arent there yet. 24? i agree, not 44.

i would like to believe we have a good relationship & she knows im crazy when it comes to my shoes & she would never think of doing something nuts like that but if she did.......

i would prbly catch a case that day

And guess what TV show is returning to the air? "Dallas". They're obviously banking on the success of the relaunched "90210". Personally, I think it's going to be more like the ill-fated relaunch of "Charlie's Angels".

The redeeming quality of the new "Dallas" is that it has Jordana Brewster :fap:.

o rly....didnt read the 1st post i see

Though it's not the most popular sentiment on this forum, marriage is pretty awesome if its w/ the right person.

I wouldn't mind spending the rest of my life with someone.. like a "life partner" or some shit. I just wouldn't wanna actually get married.

You just never know what's gonna happen in a marriage. I'm sure when everyone gets married, they're in love and feel like they're gonna spend the rest of their lives together. But so many marriages result in divorce despite that.. and there's a lot of marriages that don't end in divorce, but they're unhappy marriages.

I wouldn't be able to anticipate something like that. I could be happily married for 10 years... then get sick of her. Or she could cheat on me... etc. If it gets to that point, it would be easier to just break up, take what's yours [even having separate bank accounts] and move on. Hiring divorce lawyers and all that stuff is just too much of a drag for me.
