Do you guys like Keith Bogans as the starting shooting guard? I mean hes not very consisnten with his offense, and I tend to think hes in there for only for his D. Are you OK with that? Trading O for D so early. Korver is certainly the best shooting guard. And I think Brewer would do the same things Bogans does, except that hes not really a threat at the 3 point line. What Im really trying to say, Id like to see Korver play more, defenders cant leave him alone, and hes an underrated passer. What do you think? Shooting guard.

He plays less than 18 minutes a game. His role as a starter is greatly exaggerated.

Its a done deal...Bogans is better defender and that is big with Thibs. That shooting guard rotation is 3 or 4 deep...he is setting up depth for the playoffs at just about every position. I believe they will address the position in the offseason, until then? Nothing changes...

So its best to get his minutes outta the way early, than in crunch time.

No, you play him according to his match-up. If he's effective(yes, Keith has been effective, albeit not a scoring beast) he gets 25-30 minutes. If he's causing friction in the matchup, you go to a player that can break that friction.

Brewer, Korver, and Bogans offer different styles of play. When someone says Brewer and Bogans play the same role on D, I cringe, because they are entirely different defenders.

it'd be best to start brewer. Starting bogans means giving bogans gauranteed minutes. That's something he would never have as a bench player. The people who make the argument that bogans isn't really a starter, are neglecting the fact that he's there night in and night out.

With that said, as long as bogans is shooting the wide open jumpers rather than passing them up thereby forcing another guy to take a forced shot out of the flow of the offense, i'm fine with bogans playing 15-18 minutes a night.

Yeah, I pretty much echo what everyone else has said...his defense is good (though I think Brewer's is better...) but Thibs seems to think he's the best option we have to start, and Brewer/Korver typically play more minutes...so until the off-season, this is probably it. If nothing else, teams seem to at least reasonably respect his 3-point shot, and he's 6 fouls...

I like Bogans tattoo, you guys noticed, he has a bull on his arm
But back to the topic, Ill admit he does fill a role on defense, but the talent level is what i dont like, Noah, Boozer, Rose, Deng,....Bogans, huh.

Options

For the upgrade at the 2 spot, the are options. My list goes as follows:
1. Andre Iguodala- proven defender, a Thibs selling point, very athletic but is his contract worth giving up a lot of players to match.
2. Landry Fields- young, CHEAP about 500k for next season, moldable, coachable, and the knicks seem eager to give him up for a pick to get a center.
3. Jason Richardson- if CBA isn't cruel, he could be brought in with veteran playoff experience and most important can create and hit big shots.
4. Wilson Chandler- if denver doesn't retain him he could be had. Extremely versatile, can play 2-4 spots if needed. My favorite choice like him in New York, started at 4 at times and held is on in post. Huge mismatch creator

These are my top guys to go after, but with guys such J.R. Smith, Courtney Lee, Marcus Thorton, and Jamal Crawford possibilities are endless this offseason.

i'm not a believer in landry fields, but that would be a great rebounding lineup.

I still think we should just draft David Lighty from Ohio State and be content w/ the best team in the NBA.

Don't follow college ball too much, but the only thing that's lacking from the Bulls' SG now is obviously a consistent scorer. Hopefully they can find a Taj Gibsonesque player who accepts his role and plays hard every night.

I'll go one by one with these.

For the upgrade at the 2 spot, the are options. My list goes as follows:
1. Andre Iguodala- proven defender, a Thibs selling point, very athletic but is his contract worth giving up a lot of players to match.

Very expensive and somewhat overrated.

2. Landry Fields- young, CHEAP about 500k for next season, moldable, coachable, and the knicks seem eager to give him up for a pick to get a center.

I don't know why you think the Knicks are eager to give him up. They worked hard to keep him in the Melo trade and as you mentioned doesn't cost them much. He's not going anywhere.

3. Jason Richardson- if CBA isn't cruel, he could be brought in with veteran playoff experience and most important can create and hit big shots.

This is the one I like. He's going to be a free agent, offers a lot of what the Bulls need and won't be nearly as expensive as several of the other realistic options.

4. Wilson Chandler- if denver doesn't retain him he could be had. Extremely versatile, can play 2-4 spots if needed. My favorite choice like him in New York, started at 4 at times and held is on in post. Huge mismatch creator

Isn't likely to be available and would cost a lot to acquire. I'm also not enamored with him.

These are my top guys to go after, but with guys such J.R. Smith, Courtney Lee, Marcus Thorton, and Jamal Crawford possibilities are endless this offseason.

I don't know all the contract situations off the top of my head, though I know Crawford is a free agent and will be expensive.

I like J.R. Smith, but not as a starter. I like Crawford, but again not as a starter, Fields is not going to be available. Richardson might be expensive.
Not an easy one after all huh?
