If Shea doesn't play and isn't getting the D lined up we will probably watch AP run for 250 yards.

I look for Gase to keep Jay away from the pocket a fair amount given Zimmer's double A gap rushing scheme or whatever it is called. This is a good game to start rolling Jay out a lot. I also look for Forte on pitchouts. Gase will have to get pretty clever and Jay will have to play nimble to avoid the vikes pass rush. For my money Bears will win this game if they can avoid the vikes pass rush dominating the patchwork Bears oline.
As far as the Bears defense against the vikes offense, I believe the Bears can control them enough to win. However this probably will be a close game.
My prediction and its a bold one. If Jay avoids costly INT's Bears win.

I think Zimmer is going to anticipate the screen and roll out game with a spy lber. I think Gase goes back to jumbo sets like he did with Clausen in Seattle. Run and run again. Have the te and rb on read blocks/check downs and take what the zone gives them.
It'll be a true test of Cutler's ability to read the defense and adjust the line. If cutler can make the proper adjustments, hit the check down and take advantage of the open zones when they blitz, we win. If not, sacks and turnovers will plague our oline and Cutler.
This is a huge game because our oline is so new, young and weak. Not a good recipe against this defense. I hope Gase has something up his sleeve to combat their defensive game plan as this isn't going to be an easy win.
Same with fangio facing AP. This will be a win if coaches game plan well and the players execute. Good test to see if cutler and our defense can over come an over matched team. I'm not saying the Vikings are that good, just that this match-up doesn't favor us winning.

You make a good point that Zimmer will probably anticipate the possibility of rollouts. However I would rather have an LB to worry about as opposed to a couple of lineman bursting through the middle. Whatever Gase game plans he needs to win the chess match a lot of times against Zimmer. I look for both the jumbo sets and the rollouts to counter the oline issues against one of the best pass rush teams in the NFL.

WR screen and option keeper by Cutler might be something we see. I could see a point of blocking the a gaps and giving more responsibility to the te and rb on the edge pass rush.
Detroit tried to play straight up and Stafford really botched the oline protection calls. Given last weeks defensive game plan, i can see less blitzing, except for long yardage downs, and more defenders in zones. The spy lber is something I'd anticipate given Cutler's ability to move out of the pocket.
We haven't seen a wr reverse all season but might be a good time to break it out given their blitzing and cloud zone coverage.
I don't mind roll outs and classic screen plays but i think they will anticipate that with a spy lber. It's something we've been calling and i think they would see it coming given film review.

Isnt it just a unique pleasure to be able to discuss the possible strategy and feel confident that our OC can keep up or even possibly out coach a very good DC. This happens about as often as Halas Hall has a young cutting edge executive and the Bears have a top 10 QB.

He was stiff armed because he wasn't trying to make the tackle, he was trying to create a fumble. The only way the Bears would've been able to win that game was s forced fumble, and conte tried to make that happen. I was glad to see him give the effort of creating a fumble, Derp fans thought he just couldn't the tackle AP. Which would've been pointless.

With Bushrod & Grasu Questionable (though LP Friday), looks like we'll have:
Leno, Omemah, Slauson, Duccasse, Long.
Not a familiar group to face these Vike blitzes -- but might help keep them looking for unexpected.
It's a good runblocking group. If the run can keep Vikes honest (cautious to not over run the play), could setup a nice play-action pass mix.

It sucks that we finally have a healthy wr group and our oline looks like that. That oline group is going to get over matched and confused. I really hope Gase has a good game plan that those guys can execute. I think it'll be another conservative game plan running the ball out of jumbo sets. The roll out might be an option but the Vikings didn't bite when playing Detroit. I'm thinking lots of running and some miss direction plays to keep the dline honest. If we keep the game close we'll have a chance but if we're down by a few scores they will blitz from all angles.

Yep, a good game plan can stymie and exploit blitzes (see McCarthy/Rogers). Gase likely has excellent insight here, & 2 weeks to prepare.
Not surprisingly, I think this will be decided in the Red Zone 3s or 7s.

Jones has been just as bad on in pass coverage. That said, this is the year o see if he can get up to speed. Gotta like his potential.

I'm surprised that Rick Spielman has accumulated some good young talent up there. I thought he sucked with the BEARS and earlier in his tenure with MIN.
-Patterson didn't work out as a WR
-I don't think Floyd has been much (I don't watch their games or follow the league outside of our team THAT closely though)

-Harrison Smith can play
-Kyle Rudolph can play
-Anthony Barr can play (although top-10 picks should be really good)
-Xavier Rhodes can play
-Everson Griffin can play
-Eric Kendricks looks good
-Stefon Diggs looks good, but it's really early (impressive early showing for the 20th receiver taken in this draft though)
I worry about Peterson dominating against us yet again. Our D has looked like crap since we lost a few guys & cut/traded a few guys. I'm not that worried about Bridgewater. He seems smart. Seems like a hard worker and good guy. But he's not a big running threat. And any game I've watched his accuracy sucks. I've never understood people thinking that MIN has solved their QB problems and found a future star. To me he looks adequate at best. He's the kind of guy who you can win with if you have a really strong team, but he's not taking you anywhere himself.
I also have a crappy feeling that Cutler may have a multi-turnover game. Their D is pretty good, and I don't like our constant (albeit necessary) O-Line changes.
