I saw a very interesting game today. It asks you to list your top three favorite Tom Hanks movie performances. It was hard to narrow down the list for me. But after thinking about it for a while I finally chose my list. What would your guy's lists be?

1. Forrest Gump

2. League of Their Own

3. Apollo 13

Honorable Mention: Turner and Hooch

That was a good one too. But I had Apollo 13 slightly above it, it was a close call.

For me, the movie overall is just too good, too many great performances to say it's one of his best. The other ones are more him alone great, instead of ensemble.

1) The Money Pit

2) Big

3) The Bachelor Party

runners up include..the Toy Story movies (if that counts) and maybe Dragnet. Splash was good too.

Hanks was always better at the comedy roles in my opinion. Can't say I care as much for him in the dramatic roles. Although I was pleasantly surprised that I found myself entertained by Angels and Demons the other night while I was too lazy to turn the channel. I hadn't even seen The Da Vinci code and really don't care much for the genre but it was a good 2 hour filler. Nothing mind blowing in the film..it was often really stupid and Hanks really didn't blow me away with the acting but it was a good time killer.

Agree with Bosom Buddies also. I also liked him when he did the Love Boat......yup he did the Love Boat.

A highly underrated movie IMO. Genius script and very good acting from most everyone in the flick.

I think Philadelphia is such a well-regarded movie is the fact that its a watershed moment in cinema in regards to the way Hollywood treats people with HIV/AIDS.

No it makes good sense, I just do not think it was as great of an acting job on his part that the awards showed...but playing that type of part is always going to get recognition, especially if it is one of the first of it's type.

Yeah, the acting in and of itself in a vacuum isn't spectacular, but the role he played was like the Willy Loman of the AIDS movement.
