What would you if confronted by your CCS counterparts in real life?

Only if it's at the World's Largest Truck Stop....not sure there's another location where you can take a shower, get gas, see a movie, go to the dentist, get a haircut, and buy a CB radio and never leave the building.
Hey by the way, was on 80 East the other day. Trump billboards have been replaced with Jesus billboards LOL

I don’t really get personal or call anyone names or anything, so I think I’d introduce myself and see if they wanted to grab some beers.

I think it’s weird that people will respond to innocuous posts and earnest questions with insults and name-calling. It’s just such a weird thing to me that people will be so quick to treat each other in a way they would never treat each other in person.

I used to be a very frequent poster on a Scottish International Football (soccer) forum - as with all of these forums, some people dominated with thousands of posts, some were infrequent, a few rude, and the majority just talked utter bollocks most of the time. In 1998 Scotland qualified for the World Cup in France, our first World Cup since 1986, and it was boldly suggested that there should be a meet up of forum posters in Paris before one of the games.

Some people did fit their profiles, others were vastly different, and in some cases of a completely different gender. The loudest posters were almost all pretty much the shyest in the bar, some struggled with basic social skills, and some just couldn't back up their bite when confronted with actual people face to face. But no one was as bad as they appeared on the forum

One thing I would say. After that meet up in 1998, I am still close friends with a significant number of people I met that day. Have travelled the world with them and they turned out to be some of the kindest, smartest, funniest people I know. Though none of them really fit their online persona, I think, in hindsight, if I looked back you could probably catch glimpses of their personality between the lines.

It's also fair to say, some were and are to this day, complete assholes : )

I know at least one person here from college and that person I would gladly grab a drink with.

Beyond that, I actually don't enjoy talking football with most Bears fans. The vast majority have no idea what they're talking about so I'm used to just smiling and nodding and moving on to the next subject. I'd talk about non Bears stuff though.

Have a beer with them and realize that they have been rooting for this God awful franchise as well

Every time I hear people talking sports in public and they sound like a total homer, my first thought is always, "I bet they post on CCS."
