Good add. Just make sure you don't give to the guys with less than 100 or so, ideally, I'd like it to be around 250 posts for access, because you know those guys will keep posting.

Agree. but lets make it noticeable to the noobs too. i bet they will keep posting and will want to chat in the chat box too.

the only thing that i question is, will the forum activity go down?

well VSN was crazy. everybody was always posting in the chat box.

True, we could ultimately have the option to leave it available to donating members or members with at least a certain post count.

It was crazy on VSN however it sucked up a lot of resources since VSN was so large.

ok sounds good. one more thing, you know how twitter lets you type a certain amount of letters so you wont type a whole giant paragraph we can do the same thing so people wont post articles and etc.

Awesome idea.

Make all articles be posted in the forum.

Also, you could make url's not be allowed in the chatbox so people dont post links to articles as well.
