Im groaning the idea already. Especially considering how moronic people get with such an option. More bullshit than anything. RSL is a prime example, groaning posts in threads they have no interest even in. Add in the Groan, and Im definitely gone. Not like thats a loss to CCS, but as its the only board I like to visit, its a loss for me.

I'm going to agree with this. If there's already a "rep" button you know who is generally a decent poster and who the bad ones are, you don't need to also flag a post with "groans" because that would probably lead to more butthurt. I can also see the "groan" button being used maliciously.

And ya, I think the original intent of the first groan button was what RS said... not for people like brett who groan at you for talking about Cubs at RSL, but it balances out IMO.

I think Rory summed it up nicely. But like everything in life, a feature can be abused and so I'm inclined to stay away from the "groan" feature.

The groan button is a means to leave negative feedback in hopes of correcting a poster's behavior. The only reason I leave negative feedback is to inform a CCS poster of his error so hopefully he won't make the same mistake again...which will lead to improved individual posting quality and improved site-wide posting quality.

I don't dislike rep someone just because of their opinion. Usually I don't even dislike rep someone when they are factually incorrect. I do dislike rep people when they are wrong and won't admit it, or they complain when someone else has a different opinion. There is nothing worse to a sports forum than having posters who have no idea what they are talking about (factually incorrect), and who can't handle having an actual debate (complaining to mods).

Thats why I dislike rep guys like NCChiFan, because he is usually wrong and is constantly complaining. Maybe one day he will understand that he is being dislike repped out of love, not hate.

There was one time all I did was state an opinion and you dislike repped with the comment "tampax"
