I keep it simple...T-Bone steak, marinated in Dale Sauce and Chicago Steak seasonings, cooked medium-well...from: my grill.

Definitely off my grill. Done it so many times, I can't remember which was the best though. Had a few that were absolutely perfect. I could go off on a long rant about cooking steaks (and bbq in general), but I gotta run. Mental note: come back and start a whole thread on grilling, smoking and recipes.

1. homegrown beef from own cattle, on own grill like mentioned.

2. bison steaks are outstanding, where i live there is a place that does them up just amazing

3. tie between venison(deer) and moose steak..... had both while hunting (really good when its right after you shot the animal and start cutting your meats and throw some on the grill and youve got good eating by the time your done.

4. Elk steaks, bought some at a farmers market to try them out and it was amazing

Best steak I ever had was a filet mignon at a wedding reception at Silver Lakes CC in Orland Park.

I make it off of my infra red burner on my grill. Salt and pepper to taste. If u marinated the steak u need a better cut

Prime is available often at Costco at reasonable prices

Word. Steak is not made to be marinated.

I agree and disagree with you. I would say a good cut, should never be marinaded. But if you have a mid grade to cheap steak (e.g. sirloin) and want to tenderize it and add some flavor to it, marinading is OK in my book. Someone mentioned Dales earlier, that's pretty good shit. Moore's is pretty decent too.

But **** that, we're talking about the best steak :) What's your favorite cut? I think I gotta go porterhouse.

I'm not much of a steak guy, but there's a really great place here in Lexington, KY called Malone's. They get their steaks from Chicago and are so juicy and tender. Excellent stuff.
