What's the worst restaurant you have eaten at?

I'm not talking about bad service or crappy decor. I'm talking about a place where you sit down and have a gut feeling that you might be poisoned if you consume the food there, but you take your chances anyways because maybe you are with people that really want to eat the dangerous food, or you have no food at all in your home and all of the groceries/convenient stores are closed and you are really hungry for a steak.

For me, I went to a taco place really late at night after the bar and they were cooking everything in microwaves.

There's breakfast place in Lisle, IL, that was horrible, called Fox Restaurant. I can't figure out how they have 4 stars on google. It wasn't extremely dirty, but it wasn't clean. Dated might be a better description. Food was horrible.

Old Country Buffet....

The last time I ate there I was in my young adult years... 20-22.... I want to say it was one of those cases where I was with my family in an unfamiliar area for a wake or a funeral, and everyone was hungry and saw OCB and said "Let's just go there".

I had not been to one since I was a kid and thought "I bet I can appreciate the variety of food more as an adult... I won't just eat Mac N Cheese and then move on to cinnamon rolls and ice cream"

It was kinda dirty/dated.... like one of those mid-late 30s female bartenders who you can tell was attractive at some point and has the STDs/kids to prove it.

I distinctly remember getting my first plate of food and thinking "I've never gotten food poisoning before, I wonder what that's like".

I tried to get adult food... roast beef, chicken, potatoes.... was not good.... like season 8 of Game of Thrones, decent raw product had been turned into a nightmare I felt I couldn't walk away from.

I wound up eating a plate of shitty Mac N Cheese with cinnamon rolls and then an ice cream cone.

No wonder I wound up so fucking fat, but the food at OCB is awful and that particular one made me reconsider my life choices.

Hard to measure this...I've been to Denny's so I know what I was getting...bad food.

I've to to more expensive restaurants that expectations were higher at; the food may have been better than Denny's but didn't match the value for dollar spent.

In terms of just shitty food, fast food not included, I'd say Denny's..it all tastes the same, bland and bad......however the old Moons Over My Hammy at about 230am hit the spot.

In terms of expectations, The Melting Pot......Food doesn't equal value expectations......desert and cheese appetizers are ok if you just stick with those.

I've never eaten at a Denny's. Used to go to Village Inn for similar food though.

Village Inn. Went there 2 years ago, wife orders a chicken sandwich. Had to send if back 3 times cuz it was raw inside - like how @brett05 likes it. After the third time we just got up and left. I didn’t pay for my meal.
