The two players I would lose sleep over getting poached, are Woods and Whyte Jr, as they have shown some explosive athleticism/bursts. I think they need some seasoning to know what they are doing before they can help us, and this team is in win now mode and needs to go with the best 53 men they have. CB might be light, but with Denmark/Franklin III on the pracitce squad answers would be near if necessary, and thats what it costs if you want to 53 a ST's player like McManis...your emergency corner anyway over those two who aren't ready mentally for the position and won't be for a year or two.

There ins't a man on my 53 who doesn't know what they are doing. Maybe Bunting goes to PS(the most raw guy), and Sowell experiment continues with some evil Nagy plan behind it to break the will of safeties? IDK...in that case I would release Coward and be searching waivers for the best swing tackle I can find, but that will cost you Wiliams, Fitts, McManis, Pierre, or Kwiatkowski.

Houston-Carson doesn't do much for me and neither does Sowell or Coward.

good stuff, Rask! It's not important, but according to the Bears Robertson-Harris is a DE, and basically everyone else is a DE except Goldman is a DT/NT.
Also you get 10 on PS, if you like.
I kinda still like Joseph over Franklin, but none of the backup CBs have really stood out, not even Tolliver.
He hasn't earned a spot, but I'd be surprised if they cut Sowell after asking him to switch to TE.
Broken record for me, but I think Whyte gets the nod over Nall.
Like to Vaughters over Fitts.

Vaughters looked real small to me on gameday. Not sure what he is listed at. Couple nice plays but Fitts is a pro who knows how to use his hands and not a one trick pony.

We can keep 10 PS now? Nice. Fitts would be eligible there yeah?

Yeah...some positions were definetly weird. I was using the Bears depth chart and maybe the interns at ChicagoBears.com are clueless or something. Nichols was listed DE, Robertson-Harris as DT third string. Very strange....but that is the reason, I got it off ChicagoBears.com. ?? Isn't Woods an OLB? If so I'd have a hard time keeping Fitts over him.

Cut: Hall, Bullard, Pierrre, Fitts.

Keep: Whyte , Abdullah Anderson, Coward, Vaughters.

Hall has done nothing and Whyte seems to be a better kick returner, plus Cohen is as much a wr as a rb. Bullard as been a zero and Anderson keeps making plays. Vaughters can rush the QB better than Fitts or Pierre. Coward is the only backup OT except for Bars who is really more of a guard. Let's see what Nagy decides.

I would not be upset with that roster, but I think we are going to see at least 1 unknown player that is cut from another team either at swing tackle, TE or OLB

I do like the idea of Nall sticking to the 53, because he is expected to be the short yardage back with power but Nagy likes to use him in the passing game and he has been pretty dang good at it. However, I think that a player cut from another team might knock him off the 53.

I think that Sowell is on the roster in place of M. Hall

Minor nit - Denmark will be waived/injured on cutdown day, then put on IR where he can’t be poached. It seems pretty obvious they have been setting him up for a red-shirt season, which makes sense given how raw he is.

And disagree on the outcome of the Nall/Whyte thing, but that’s been argued into the ground already...

I am a big fan of Nall and what he can offer but my guess is he is cut and Whyte is kept. It will be easier for Nall to make it to the PS. Most teams are not going to waste a roster spot to claim a 3rd or 4th runningback, but Whyte has shown out as a returner. Teams could justify claiming him

Solid 53 (60)

I don’t see anybody getting “poached” based on the fact the team would have to put them on their active 53 with very limited film to justify that move.

I'm on team #Vaughters, too. Let Fitts develop some more on the PS.

I was going by last years positions. So if the depth chart has them that way, they could have changed them. Hard to see Robertson-Harris as a DT.

Woods is an ILB.

Yes, Fitts is PS eligible. So is Coward.

Vaughters is 256 lbs 6'1", he's heavier than Irving (254, 6'3") and more 'compact' than Fitts 6'3", 261. It's just results that matter. The backup needs to be able to step in and get quick pressure on the QB. Mack at 6'3", 269 is the best.. don't have to be a giant.

So if Leno or Massie gets hurt the plan is to just leave that hole vacant?

Their starting guards are versatile, and their back-up guards are decent guards, and worthy of a roster spot.

There is no third tackle specialist worthy of taking someone elses job, imo.

Coward will not be active gameday anyway, he won't get poached, why not keep him on practice squad?
