The State of Illinois decided awhile back that I drink too much when I drive, so now I walk my happy-ass up to the Shop 'N Save if I feel like eating that week. It's only two-blocks north of my house, which is convenient, but is also rife with crackheads and weirdos. Before my little "youthful indiscretion" however, I did most of my shopping at Cub Foods (better selection and less crackheads).

I wish Cub Foods hadn't pulled out of Chicago. It was a corporate decision. SuperValu (the owner of Cub), acquired Albertsons, who were the owners of Jewel. To avoid oversaturation, they sold off the Cub properties. Also, they were getting their ass kicked by Aldi and Kroger-owned Food 4 Less.

I like what has replaced most of their stores in UltraFoods. I'm too young to remember what Cub Foods was like though.
