The worst idea is the estate tax. The person bequeathing it has already paid enough tax money, to get fucked an extra time close to 1/2 the amount passed on is bogus. Some people hoard the money\property so their kids or grandkids can have it that much better and easier.

I agree but man some of those Dems are hot about this one. That Weiner guy from New York was on Fox News a couple days ago and got really angry about this issue when he was challenged on it. Megyn Kelly asked him why should someone who's already paid taxes then be taxed again on their estate after death. Weiner replied that 'you are already dead at that point so you are not being taxes, the tax is on your heirs'. Just another example of this administration and Congress wanting to enact social justice and wealth redistribution.

Three things for me to be happy about this morning.

The tax rates will remain the same. (Love how the media uses the negative spin of words by saying "Tax Cuts" instead of extending the current tax rates?)

Reid has thrown out the Omnibus Bill with over 6,000 earmarks.

The public is finally realizing what many of us have said and feared all along about Obama being unqualified to lead.

Yes seeing stimulus #2 yanked from the Senate floor last night with 6600 earmarks was a wonderful thing. This 111th Congress is determined to push as many of these bills through before they lose power on Jan 5th.

Yep nothing changes. The problem is the American people want their cake and eat it too. They want low taxes and great welfare programs. Well you can't have both, the economics just don't work that way.

Therein lies the inherent problem with communism, The idea is that everyone will be equal in wealth, but the reality is 90% of the people are equal in poverty with an elite minority ruling class.

it just can never ever work as intended, its impossible.

And yes I am in that bracket that would have shot to 39+%.

Good for you and this is where I differ from this administration. I'm betting you worked hard to make it into that bracket and you didn't just inherit wealth like a Paris Hilton. Why should you have to pay the government more in taxes so they can dole it out to who they want and think is more justified to have it? You worked for it - you keep it. That is capitalism and I like it.

And even then there is still not equality in the 90% as politics and favoritism will still exist (and drive rabid ass kissing). A very large middle class is the way to go, IMO.

The funny thing about the majority of people with money is that they did\do work\risk for it. I know that sounds odd for some. And, blah, blah, blah about the silver spooner's, they are not the majority of the people with wealth, but it is far easier to lose that wealth than it is to maintain or build on it.

I have been in and out of that bracket 3 times in my life so far...and no I was not given a head start.

I saw this interview live and I was astounded. It really does give insight into the minds of the ultra liberals regarding taxes.

Yup.

Oh and to further on my money\property hording comment...not everyone that does that is rich or even ultra rich, some are just trying to give a head start (which is what my grandparents did for us...at least enough college money).

Too simple, and too hard to redistribute the wealth by lining the pockets...

The answer, is not trying to figure out the magic formula for brackets. The answer is to tax everyone equally and for the government to stop playing "favorites" with the tax breaks they give. No IRS, no lobbyists, no death penalty, no paying tax over and over again on the same income. Let people keep all the money they make. Tax them when they spend it. Get rid of the corruption with the lobbyists. Bring industry back to the USA. Create jobs. Make the USA the world economic powerhouse it used to be. Have enough money left over when it is all said and done that you don't have to cut social programs. Yes, you guessed it because you know me all too well, I am talking about THE FAIR TAX. Read the books, educate yourself and don't just listen to what the talking head are saying.
