I really like those rankings actually.

I'd go in the order of:
1. Chris Paul
2. Derrick Rose
3. Deron Williams
4. Rajon Rondo
5. Russell Westbrook
6. Tony Parker
7. Steve Nash
8. John Wall
9. Stephen Curry
10. Chauncey Billups
11. Jason Kidd

Rose is solidly between 1st and 3rd on that list.

I'm cool with the list. I would personally have Deron Williams #1 and move Billups up to # 7 past Wall.

Factor in defense and I'm not so sure. Tony Parker is no prize on defense himself but he has shown that he can contribute in a successful team defensive strategy. And Nash is a huge liability on that end... he's always been one of the worst defenders in the entire league. Age isn't doing him any benefits.

agreed with everything in this. I think Chris Paul is just a better passer and better at stealing.

I agree Paul is probably better than rose in skill but who won the MVP? Derrick. Why? He led his team to more victories so I have to say personally I would rather have him on my team so I say he is best

i still put him over parker and westrbrook because he is efficient and considering what is around him(which certainly isnt bad but its not as good as it has been) its pretty impressive he still runs the offense fluidly

i think his defense is a bit of a product of the system he has been in phoenix

however, i dont think he's a great defender by any stretch

As a Spurs fan... you should be well aware of how terrible Nash is on defense. He has made Tony Parker look like a basketball God. Undeniably great talent on offense. But so are Westbrook and Parker. Nash's skills are diminishing too.

It's pretty interchangeable but I can't put Nash ahead of those guys right now.

Chris Paul deserved that MVP in 2008 just as much, if not moreso, than Kobe did.

Rose is clearly phenomenal and was nowhere short of terrific for the Bulls this year, but the only categories he performed better than CP3 (in definitely his best season so far) in were blocks and points per game, and he took almost 9 more shots per night. By any objective measure right now I still have to go with CP, even if it pains me. Maybe he elevates himself above this year, but I don't think he's there yet. Gotta have him at 2 though

:nope: and that was in 2008, were talking about now ;)

2008 wasn't that long ago and Chris Paul is the same player as he was back then.

No player is more valuable to his team's success like Chris Paul is to the Hornets. If Paul left the Hornets, his team would maybe be the worst in the league. If Rose left the Bulls, they would still be top 15-20.

if you tell me chris paul is playing at his highest level for 82 games, i'm taking paul. however i feel that's unlikely at this point.

and cp3 was a better player pre-knee injury, i don't think that's an argument! this was one of the worst seasons he's had in a while statistically

Deron Williams has to be the No. 1 best "pure" Pg. Paul maybe 2nd. Idk where to rank Rose, he seems to me not a true point guard. More of a scoring PG like Marbury and Iverson were.

honestly when you ask me who the best point guard is, i don't think about the guy who reminds me of bob cousy and magic johnson the most. if i had my pick of all the point guards in the league, i'm taking rose first. that's what the best PG is to me.
