There is something called an ideal role-playing PG and an ideal franchise player-caliber PG.

A guy like John Stockton is a role-playing PG while a guy like Magic Johnson is the latter.

Derrick Rose has a lot of shooting guard skills while guys like Deron Williams, Rondo, Chris Paul really don't. And Chris Paul, Rajon Rondo, and Deron Williams all play a more prototypical PG role on their teams. But that doesn't necessarily mean they are all better PGs than Rose.

Rose definitely is a superstar player capable of leading his team to a title at the PG spot.

I really like those rankings actually.

I'd go in the order of:
1. Chris Paul
2. Derrick Rose
3. Deron Williams
4. Rajon Rondo
5. Russell Westbrook
6. Tony Parker
7. Steve Nash
8. John Wall
9. Stephen Curry
10. Chauncey Billups
11. Jason Kidd

Rose is solidly between 1st and 3rd on that list.

Overall I would probably agree everything with this list.

I would say CP3 and Deron as pure PGs over Rose.

But those 3 are my top 3 just the same

2008 wasn't that long ago and Chris Paul is the same player as he was back then.

No player is more valuable to his team's success like Chris Paul is to the Hornets. If Paul left the Hornets, his team would maybe be the worst in the league. If Rose left the Bulls, they would still be top 15-20.

paul hasnt been the same since his knee problem, way less consistent these days...thats his only problem :p

He sure looked as good as he ever has looked in that Lakers' series.

I really have a hard time with who the best PG is between Rose and Paul. I think the knee is going to eventually get back to 100%.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  2. Oakland Raiders
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
yeah Rose is a top 3 PG.

I don't think he's #1 though. IMO when CP3 is healthy, he's the best PG in the NBA. Great vision, great defense, good shooter and can take it to the basket. He just doesn't have the size.
