ARI dont really have a 1B though.

No but I think they have bigger issues. They are still 3rd in runs scored despite no 1B.

Their pitching is terrible though, with an ERA that ranks 11th, and given up the 14th amount of runs.

The Giants on the other hand have an offense that's just awful. They rank 15th in runs. Pit is a little better offensively than SFG but little worse pitching wise. I think both make more sense but I don't know if Pitt will be buyers or not.

The Giants can also give an better offer.

I dont see either team giving up top specs. They both prolly be willing to give up about the same in mid level specs. So it depends on what the Cubs like more.

Yeah that's kind of my view. Really the only players that could bring back top talent are Castro, Soto and Garza.

What we will be getting back everyone has.

It also depends on how the desperate the team is and how much they really want Pena. Also pressure.

I think Waldo hit it on the head with the pressure. If there is another legitimate middle of the order bat out there for trade, then Pena's value goes way down. However, I don't really see anyone with Pena's power likely to be out in the market heading into the deadline. Perhaps that could change, but if Pena keeps up the 900 OPS and keeps the batting average trending up we might get a nice haul.

Mark Reynolds comes to mind though he has some no trade protection.

Seems like a pretty similar player to Pena except he is right handed, plays 3B and is younger. Probably has higher value because of how terrible 3B production across baseball has been.

It's really remarkable how bad it is right now.

Hell 2B is the least producing position in baseball right now even.
