Well even though it's not my preference but seeing as Stan did zilch to get a 2C for Hossa I would play Sharp at 2C. As much bedazzlement fun as it was to see Sharp like a kid let loose in the offensive candy store last season I would prefer to see him claim his defensive responsibility back from the Two-Way Hockey Lost and Found which is where it lay most of last season. Playing C for Hossa is the more likely option to make that happen IMO.

I was screaming at Q to put them together during "crunch times" last season esp during the 1st round. Q never really did as far as I remember so I don't see him changing that tune. I really think Q is sold and wants Sharp as his #2 center and to work that second line around him.

I know the Sharp debate is always interesting and it is because he is a capable player in both positions. It's a great "problem" to have. But I am actually more interested in seeing how Q manages to screw Kane this season. God I hope he drops him to the 3rd line again like he did soooo many times last year...with zero results.

I will also come out and say this. Bolland is our key. If he goes out for a long duration with an injury again then it doesn't matter where Sharp plays our center depth is fucked.

Q had no choice but to put Sharp with JT and PK last year during the start of the first round. His knee was not 100% so taking face offs and the extra push for Center was not there. The minute he was near 100% or as close as he was going to get, and Bolland was ready, they both went back to Center. Sharp #2 and Bolland where he belonged at #3. And the hawks almost won the series from being down 0-3.

While I've always been a promoter of Sharp to #1 LW with JT and PK, there is no doubt he can play Center. It's like Q's ace in the hole.

If either Sharp or Bolland get hurt again this year we could be fucked. Unless Mcneil shows he's ready and stays with the big club, which I highly doubt.

If this team stays healthy they win the Cup. If not it will be a struggle if those injuries come at C.

I like him at center and playing with Hossa, give us two very good scoring lines.

The way Q changes lines everyone who posted is correct. I love watching TKS play together, and when we are in desparate need of a goal thats who will be on the ice.

Sharp has shown that he manages well as the #2 center and it gives two threatening scoring lines. Place him on the wing with T&K when that extra scoring is needed at crunch times.

Is having Sharp on wing with Kane and Toews the best line on the team, maybe even division or league? Yes, is it what's best for the team as a whole at this point, I just don't think so. Until They get another center that can fill in there better than any of the alternatives you are shooting yourself in the foot by having a pretty bad line out there. With sharp you have 3 (probaby 4 because how hard is it to center the 4th line) solid centers with Bollie on the 3. Making them very dangerous.

When Bollie came back against Van wasn't sharp at Center and him on as the third line? I thought that was when Bollie played his best hockey, on that third line agitating the top line.

When the Canucks series started Sharp had his first game back and was with Kane and Toews. Frolik was Centering along with Johnson, Toews and Dowell.

After the Hawks were down 0-3, Q thought sharp was healthy enough to put back on the 2nd line and Bolland came back that same game to Center the 3rd line. They came an inch of winning the Series from there on.

I think Sharp is his best on Wing where he likes to play. I've always said it and thats why I wanted them to find a 2nd line Center. Unfortunately this years crop of Centers past Richards was pretty slim, especially for a 2nd line Center. So unless Kruger comes out on fire I expect Sharp to be with Hossa, centering that line.

Funny thing about Sharp he's a great player in what ever position he plays. that to me says he's almost the most valued forward on this team because of his versitility. After JT of course.

So... you're agreeing with me? Or just restating what I said?

And the real funny thing about Sharp is that he prefers the wing and still resigned with the hawks knowing there was a pretty good chance that he would be getting a lot of time at Center at least next year. That to mean makes him even more valuable and further points to my opinion that if Toews wasn't here for some reason, that Sharp would have that C on his chest. He probably could have went somewhere else, got a C, played wing, and got at least a little more doe... but he stayed because he thinks this is the best place for him.

Yes, I was agreeing with you. Maybe I should be a dick and it will be more clear. LOL

I think Seabrook would have had the C if not for Toews. Just IMO.

Haha, yeah maybe.

The only reason I say sharp is that I feel like 1.) it's seems like it's usually a forward? Maybe not. and 2.) doesn't he still have seniority? Or is it Seabs that has been here the longest now? Either way it's close right? I just get the feeling that while the Team looks to Seabs for that toughness and gut check, I feel like that's slightly different than the leadership that Sharp provides. I bet if it was a team vote it would be neck and next with Sharpie winning?

There's also the whole deal with Kruger. I am surprised he hasn't been mentioned in here. Then again, I don't blame anyone for not mentioning him. I mean, if Sharp is the 2nd Line C, where does Q put Kruger then?

You're absolutely right by saying that Bolland is key to this... It also keeps Kruger off the ice.

And also from what I saw in Prospects Camp, I don't think McNeill is ready, not by a longshot. Time in Rockford will do him justice.

Read up four posts, Kruger was mentoned. Read up 7 McNeil was mentioned. I think those are both wild cards. Kruger will make the team, while Mcneil will be sent back to Jr's. To young for Rockford.

Although there is more depth all around this year than last, there is sitll almost NONE at Center. So that position is KEY as far as health goes. Or just to be healthy come playoff time.

And Mass Seabrook and Keith have seniority as far as Hawk longevity on the team. Sharp came 1-2 years later. There is a reason when anyone with a letter goes down it's Seabrook that gets the A. And it's not just because I'm a huge Seabrook homer, he exudes everything a leader should. Sharp does too IMO, but Seabrook is more on both sides IMO.

Centers will probably look something like this out of Camp

Toews

Sharp

Bolland

Kruger

I just don't buy the bullshit Mayers is a Center, and Frolik sucks at Face offs. Although they could still work with Frolik.

Brunette-Toews-Kane

Smith/Morin-Sharp-Hossa

Frolik-Bolland-Bickell

Carcillo-Kruger-Mayers/Scott

Seabrook-Keith

Montedor-Hjarlmarsson

Leddy-Lepisto

Odonell.

I left Leddy out origionally. He could probably switch back and forth with Montedor.

yea it's been a fucked up day, but I still worked amazingly. Your abuse should have happened after the OP forgot where he CAME FROM and negleted the Dany.

Speaking of Dany I wonder if he's still over there.

It certainly looks like Sharpie will be playing 2nd C at least until the deadline when we will hopefully be able to get a true center for the 2nd line and Sharpie can then play wing with T and K.
