You simply do not know whether Smith would change his ways. It could very well be the opposite affect and Smith could hinder other players' work ethics like a cancer for all you know.

Smith is a raw talent who plays SHITTY team basketball. Players like him are the reason why the league is in the shape that it's in. He didn't give a damn about growing as a player and you or I have no reason to believe otherwise.

The Bulls have plenty of flaws. Boozer is flawed. Noah is flawed. Deng is flawed offensively. Hell, even Rose is flawed defensively. Bringing in a shitty team player, who wants to isolate every possession, is not the answer.
