no, he is what he is..not very good. hope Kenny deals his ass in the off-season.

let him be some other teams headache.

:turrible:

Since 2008 Floyd has an ERA+ of 108

ERA+ Last couple of seasons:
2008: 119 ERA+ xFIP of 4.50
2009: 116 ERA+ xFIP of 3.69
2010: 105 ERA+ xFIP of 3.73
2011: 97 ERA+ xFIP of 4.11

Clearly he's been regressing every year, and he's had some luck (2008), but to say he's always been bad is just.....:obama:

He's not great, but what we use him for, a number 4 starter, he's pretty solid.

Yes he is fine as a 4th starter.

Please please for the love of god, stop using xFIP by itself to defend your debate. xFIP is a horrible metric.

If you dont want to be Dan Bernstein and Lefty try actually not going with the "fandom" trends of pure commercial metrics. They have been proven over and over again to be highly flawed especially xFIP and FIP, its almost as bad as UZR.

Sierra is much better and I still dont use it by itself, but atleast it isnt as crazy as xFIP.

Exactly. We have a good rotation minus one thing: No ace.

Floyd is good 4 guy, Humber is a really good 5.

Sale will be a 3 before you know it. Peavy is really good at 2 this year.

All the Sox need is an ace. Too bad those are really hard to find.

+ is ok. i dont mind that. you dont even need to post the xFIP to try to back up your point. he is fine for a 4th starter.

the only issue that I have is what his potential was coming out of the draft, im a bit disappointed. Also dont like how he sometimes poops himself. :)

I really want the sox to get a Starter though so he is pushed back to 5th and humber can replace zack stewart in the pen.

All fair and good points. Maybe we should go for Oswalt?

He wants to go to a winner, adding him would certainly give us a better chance at winning.
