1. they arent rivals

2. they would only be hated if it was a WS matchup, other than that the cubs have nothing to do with the sox and vice versa

3. i look at them as just another mlb squad

Sorry fellas I been a Sox fan since 1968 and I have hated some of my very own Sox teams so with this said I will tell you I hate ev ery fiber of the Cbs with a deep passion and I will die that way I hope they never win another dam n game! The Cubs have always been and always will be nothing but a trendy team that does nothing but te3ase its fans I have love and respect for Cubs fans for sticking with them but as far as the Crumbs go they can maove to Alaska for all I care and they can take Wrigley familia with tem as well!!!

I'd love nothing more than seeing the Sox and Cubs both build consistent winners. The only time I'd have a problem with the Cubs is if they faced the Sox in the World Series.

For me..

I'm just fine with rooting for the Sox when they make it to the playoffs and the Cubs don't.

I've said this before.. I was extremely happy when the Sox won in 2005. As we were both pushing 90+ years without a championship at all.

Then within a few months the people who just rat on the Cubs make me somewhat regret rooting for the Sox in 2005. Those people are in the far minority though.

Just my POV on that.. Since it pretty much aligns with what a lot of you guys think of us Cub fans on somethings.

I think that's actually a fair perspective :D

The Tribune "bias" (or "unbias" as the old ownership group have always claimed) has really created a shit ton of Sox fans who feel extremely jilted/dismissed. As a result, there are a ton of Sox fans who irrationally despise everything Cubs. I mean really, to the point of ridiculousness...:smh:

It would also be fair if I held the same perspective of Sox fans, which I do. :shifty:

In my mind, the last time Cubs and Sox fans had the right to hate each other and to hate each others teams was 1906.

And the Sox won.

But it wasn't against the Sox and that was the last time they won the World Series. At least we won in 1917 and then waited awhile until 2005.

When the Sox won the World Series, my brother, a Cubs fan, bought a hat and celebrated with my family who is mostly Sox fans. I really respected that. When the Cubs finally win the world series, I'll probably celebrate with my brother. It's still Chicago winning a championship and that's always awesome in my book.
