There is no reason to think that Bautista's current production levels will continue, both in the current season and beyond. He is currently 24 points above his career OBP average (which only makes for a .358 OBP, btw) and a staggering 126 points above is career slugging average....at age 29....in his next-to-last arb year. Everything about this screams "unrepeatable", so of course KW will buy high on him and his return to career norms will butt rape us. Fantastic.
you hate every rumor and everyone. nothing makes you happy.
Not really, he's being realistic.
ZiPS sees him hitting .233/.338/.451 the rest of the way, and I read earlier that they are wanting elite prospects for him. No thanks.
you cannot invest 100% into sabre.

Lefty would field a team of all calculators if he could.

He would be sick in our lineup, and he wouldn't cost too much.
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmhm! You betcha. But they would be different types, of course. A pocket calculator would be my speedy, scrappy second baseman, with TI-89's being my big-bopper corner OFers. And for the pitching staff? Slide rules. Yup.
The price is actully high for him, but he will be traded time the 31st comes. I don't get why, he batting in the .230's with good hr and rbi. Also, he's only up for arb and could make 6-8M. Way to much for him. He could be non-tender.
