They could've won that game easily until Kimbrel just totally blew it. He was acquired to come in those exact situations, in the playoffs, and put out fires. Today he was just gasoline on the fire.
I don't know how they get the starting pitching where it needs to be. They need a bonafide ace, they need to make the equivalent of the Chris Sale trade. How they do that I have no idea. I really do not want to part with Andrew Vaughn, but unless you're open to the idea of dealing Moncada I don't see any other way.
They can make do with Lance Lynn and Lucas Giolito as mid-rotation guys, but they aren't the ace the Sox need. That's the problem here. I actually am not too worried about the bullpen, I expect a pretty good bounceback year out of Kimbrel.
