Is there anyone in the system that can do the job? I ask because I don't know.

would be nice! he would be a good fit for this team.

He's prolly the most legit UFA center this season. Saku Koivu is available, but he would help on the PP and on the dot, but Jokinen would help this team in every way

Olli Jokinen!!!

With all due respect, every team that has acquired this guy has thought he was the answer - which he has always disappointed.

Personally I would pass just based upon this guys record of never delivering.

Or to put it in baseball terms - this appears to be more like a situation where you may be only looking at numbers posted and thinking they are looking good - but there has always been more to it than that (not suggesting it is the same problem -but it is a similar type of situation that the Cubs had when they decided that Milton Bradley was a good idea... it isn't.).

Kruger--not likely in his skill set as he played there some this year. Pirri--well, he was up and down and our Rockford natives can provide more info on him. McNeil, Danault, K. Hayes--all likely not ready.

There is a lot of hype on Danault recently...and things people are stating is he might be a competent replacement at 3C. He has a good two way game and great work ethic, but not a whole lot of offensive talent.

Giving Kane an off-season and a training camp full of work as a center ... what would you guys think about his chances to fill in that 2C role?

Between McNeill, Danault, and Kruger, one of those three has to fill into the 2C role within the next 2-3 years, or they need to be moved for a veteran that can.

Just what the Hawks need at #2 center, a guy who has no interest playing two way hockey.

Not liking it. Granted, Kane is right when he says he basically plays center offensively, we need 200 feet centers in our game.

A FA center would be nice IF there were no salary cap... I would fear getting a 2C through trade as they would obviously have to pay a premium for a true top-6 C... might be able to get a discount on Getzlaf coming off a down year.

Realistically, Kane.

I'd take Getzlaf in a heartbeat..**** these over-hyped "prospects".

Well obviously I would TAKE him. Unfortunately the UFA Center market sucks, so anyone looking to trade for a top-6 C better be willing to give up an arm, a leg, and five dicks... and probably an established player and a top prospect.

You wanna move Toews to the 2nd line, or you want him to center both lines? I'd prefer the latter of the two.

But only if we can't get Scott back. :shifty:

So so far our top ideas are:

1) :troll:

2) Sign someone shitty in FA

3) Trade for one of the best players in the league

4) Take your chances on a prospect

5) Kaner

This off season, the Hawks should get:

Getzlaf
Suter
#1 goalie
and a new GM

Sounds good to me.
