Blog: Would you trade Derrick Rose? |

Completely hypothetical and just for shits and giggles. I thought it was interesting, obviously Chicago would NEVER trade Rose but who "would" you give him up for? Obviously it would have be a huge deal because Rose is the future of the NBA.

Lebron, Howard and Durant would be the only ones I would consider right now.

This. But honestly, I don't think I would end up trading Rose for anybody unless it was apart of a ridiculously absurd one-sided package that favored the Bulls.

My list would be two players ...

LeBron: he's the best player in the game so you find a way to work the team out from there.
Howard: He's the best defender in the game. You build a Howard/Noah or Howard/Boozer front court and trade the other (realistically probably Noah because he has more value).

Other than that I wouldn't do. Durant is better than Rose but not by enough of a margin to disrupt the team. Griffin might be better than Rose down the track but not right now and again I wouldn't rebuild the team. None of the other PGs are as good a fit as Rose, and most are older. Everyone else is too old to be worth it.

LeBron...or a package of Westy/Durant...Maybe Williams or Paul if they came with the 1st round picks for the next 5 years from those teams.

If you could get Kobe TONIGHT for Rose, Korver and a number one and you could get Kobe Bryant in a Bulls uniform by the weekend would you do it?

I would do it.

If you're trying to establish the "who you'd start a franchise with" argument than the only players I'd consider are Howard, James, or Durant. If it's a "who would you trade Rose for if you were running the Bulls" I might have to take off Howard since you create a logjam in your front court.

Maybe a three-team blockbuster of CP3, LBJ & two first-rounders.

I think Blake Griffin is going to have to change his style of play eventually. The dude is completely determined and somewhat reckless at time when he goes up for his dunks. He goes down hard a lot, and it might eventually take a toll on him.

No one. Im emotionally attached to Rose. Hes a Chicago kid, drafted by the Bulls and made us truly relevant again. Sure guys like Howard, LeBron and Durant are better than him, but i'd rather keep him, build more around him and watch him progress. I see him becoming Wade like in a year or so. Im all in on this kid, wouldnt trade him for anyone. I dont think he's the best and you can call me crazy but thats my dude.

Chicagoans can never be happy. Always living in the hypothetical.

ahhh lighten up...we're all plenty happy w/ Rose...slow day on the board = insane hypotheticals that will never happen, and none of us would be happy if this particular one did anyway.

I think its a fair way to truly assess where Rose stands in the league...Bill Simmons makes a big ass list every year doing it...
