I did land him. He wasn't that big. Only about 21 inches or so. It was just a little punk.

My dad did tie into a 40 inch Northern. And landed him. Almost broke the net. Was a great time.[/quote]

They have really sharp teeth.

That they do. My Pops got his thumb sliced open by a 26 incher. We had a few rally towels in the boat and one had to sacrifice one of them.

I got one 20 inch 'Eye, and a couple of dinks. They weren't biting, as they had a wicked cold front go through the night before we got there, another hit Monday night, and we only got in a half a day Friday due to lightning. Plus, the bilge pump busted on the boat and rain just collects like of mutha in that thing.

When we first got there, the Walleyes were sitting in about 20-25 feet. By the end of the week, they had moved up to about 12-15 feet, ready to bite. So no Walleye fillets this go around, but we got plenty of Northern.

My Pop is going through the pics and putting them on a disk for me. I only have a few pics from my phone, all scenery shots.

Your lucky the Northern were biting. Depending on how far up you go usually Sept is the time the weather gets funky. IE cold fronts. Seasons change pretty quick up there. End of June through end of August is the safest bet.

Even the Trout in MT were fickle due to the crazy weather. 4 1/2lb Large Mouth is the nicest fish I caught. Crazy.

I'm not a big fan of eating Northern.

This guy caught more fish than I did while I was there---

I have fail safe spinners for Northern. Can't keep 'em off. We usually go in September. Cooler weather, Eye's NORMALLY way more active, and we can almost watch the trees change colors. It is beautiful. The Smallies we ran into were great fighters. Super fat too. Like, me fat. chunky as hell. The fella that came up with us got a 20 inch bass, and that thing weighed in at a bit over 5 lbs.

I dont eat fish, unless I catch it and all that. The Northern is pretty damn good. Boney, you betcha. Ya just gotta rake it and eat slow.

We saw a ton of Bald Eagles, and watched one swoop down and nab a fish of some kind. Amazing.

Northern Manitoba has no small mouth. Every Sept I've ever been up there has sucked. Lake Trout are hard to catch when the cold fronts first move in.

The biggest bronze back I have ever caught.

My Dad with a beefy Smally as well.

As you can guess, we ate him.

This toad was cold. It was like 35 degrees outside. Poor fella.

The 40 inch monster.

Just a cool shot.

A hot chick bagged this bear. The bear was around 350 pounds.

If ya wanna check out a few more pics, or photoshop some crap, here a link to my Dad's album. I ask that you don't photochop him or the other fella, as they don't know we are goofy.

For a minute I thought you were talking about yourself when you said a hot chick bagged a 350 pound bear.

That cart would come in handy next week in Key West for hauling around Steve and Brian when they start looking like that.

Always an option, although I don't think it's wise to strike a pose like that bear while in Key West and not be able to fend off advances...

If Jako was around it, it could just be a healthy dose of date rape drug.

What he doesn't tell people is that he actually goes up to Canada once a year to refill his supply of Rohypnol.

Those poor woodland creatures never see it coming.

Why did they kill it? Did it try to get into your food or something? Did it have babies?

A hunter killed it. Thats what they do. I know there are rules for hunting bears up there, but i dunno what they are. mI assume you can only shoot single bears.
