1) Patterson, Blair, Johnson: These guys have alot of skills you're looking for in a power forward but lacks ideal height. I tend to think team's with undersized power forwards are phony at best.

Patterson and Johnson might not be undersized though. We have to wait and see. If both come in at 6'8 with shoes than that's okay height for the PF spot. They both have a nice frame to them. I don't see them being pushed around

The way I see it if you want a potential starter Johnson and Patterson should be rated higher than Blair, with Blair IMO you know exactly what you're getting.

I don't think Blair is all that cut and dry. He was the best rebounder, statistically speaking, in the history of college basketball from what someone told me. Rebounding is the most likely skill to translate to the NBA (regardless of height), so I wouldn't count him out. He'll probably still be able to get a lot of points on put backs / garbage stuff, and if another team goes "small" with their PF, if you go small and bring in Blair in the post you might be able to abuse them.

I'm not sold on Blair being great, but I'm not sold on him being a lost cause either. I've also heard that Blair is a tremendous character guy, so he may be able to lose some of the weight as well.

I may have been the source on that one so i will try to give context to the claim.

1) I was referring to offensive rebounding

2) My source is the draftexpress database which only goes back to the 01/02 season

3) I was wrong(though i thought i read an article where someone made the claim), when looking at per 40 pace adjusted offensive rebounding of players w/ +20 mins/gm he had only the 2nd best year in the database. Lee Reliford had a better year in 03/04 (8.4 vs 8.1); though the dude played for central arkansas and Blair played for Pitt. There is probably a little bit of a difference in skill of opponents. Interesting note, the 3rd best year was Milsap's 05/06 year where he posted a 7.0.

Given that info i would agree with your claim that he is not a lost cause.

Not sure if you're replying to me. I think Blair will be good in the NBA but if he's 6'5 like I've read some places I'm not sold on him being a starter

If Blair is 6'7 or 6'6'25 like Milsap and Bass then I think Blair can be a starter.

To me Johnson and Patterson have more upside but Tyrus upside was higher than LA and we seen how that turn out. My only question with Blair is his height. If we're lucky enough to land Blair I will be jumping for joy.

For the last time, James Johnson is a F. He's not a pure PF. Aminu played PF for Wake this year. I wouldn't draft Johnson to play the 4. If you're looking for a pure 4, then go with the physicality of Blair. Besides, he seems more determine for what's ahead of him. I quote, Blair says, "Nobody is gonna stop me from getting the ball." Blair a post player and Johnson is similar to Deng. Johnson plays on the perimeter. They are to different type of players. You people comparing Blair to Charles Barkley. I agree with that.

No disrespect but we'll have to wait and see what he measures out. He might of played SF at Wake but a lot of EXPERTS have him as a combo guy which means he could play PF in the NBA just as well as he could be a SF. So the statement you make is kinda premature

Shawn Marion wasn't a PF in college but it's seem to do wonders for him the NBA at that spot. If Johnson comes in at 6'6.25 or taller with his frame he can play PF in the BULLS system and his skill set would cause a lot of problems for PF at that spot and with his nice frame he won't get pushed around like Tyrus does

Edit:Thad Young was a SF and for Philly played PF mostly too. So you know Thad measured at 6'5.75 and 6'7.5 with shoes and only weighed in at 210lbs

No one is saying Johnson will be this bruiser that lives in the paint but in the system we run he could be a nice option at PF.

Also no one is saying they're the same. Johnson if he measures out okay brings a different skill set. Blair will be the physical guy that will grab rebounds defend and get some nice put backs.

Johnson will be more of a face up guy but his shoot at the PF spot will be good and he can handle the ball well which is a major plus if he plays PF

Looking at the current Bulls team we could use Johnson at some SF as well. With Gordon gone we have no one behind Deng so Johnson can play the PF spot and also log some SF minutes

I'd consider it to clear out salary space for 2010 if those guys don't all sign extensions.

Morrison and Fisher for Kirk. And Doug is right, if Bosh and Amare don't sign extensions, I would go for it and be pushing deng like a timeshare.

Thats also a possibility, I just don't get why there wasn't much buzz about us and Portland at the deadline. I find it weird because their gm loves kirk and Deng. Silence isn't normally a good sign.

I keep on forgetting about Mother's day.

I'm interested in what you think about Johnson and Clark
