No on the dremel. I used a mini sander for the sides. I did decide on the color, actually going with a color changing paint, so it'll either look blue or purple depending on the light.
That’s gonna look pretty cool. Can’t wait to see the pics. If you ever have the opportunity to get a dremel I would. It will let you get into some tight spaces. And it’s very good for other things around the house. Are you changing pick ups or using the same ones

Changing the pickups and all the electronics, as they were shit anyway. I see where they saved their money on the build. I got a Seymour duncan "whole lotta humbucker" and I got two single coils hand wound from rumpelstilskin pickups. Also putting in a Gilmour switch from obsidian wire, which is a pre-built kit. The original kit I was looking at seemed to be discontinued, so I went with thebases loaded solderless since it got great reviews.

Had to. The pickups were kinda trash, the pots were going bad, as was the jack. I already copper shielded the pickup guard. If I could ever get this paint job done, I just got to copper shield the body, then drop everything in and just clean it up. The prep though is such a pain. I can only do so much at a time before I have to break because I'm annoyed lol.

It’s gonna be worth it once it’s all done.

I also thought about changing my Gibsons mini humbuckers but was talked out of it by a guitar technician/historian.

The only mod I want to do with my Gibson is to get a Marshall to pair it with lol. Also, get good at guitar. I've been slacking lately due to various circumstances.

It takes time and practice. Sadly once I got married along with my “real” job I had little time to practice and it shows. I barely do it twice a week now even though I’m retired. I have a little slush fund for a Marshall but every time I get close something comes up. I’ve yet to play my Les Paul thru a Marshall. Also I have thought about changing the pickup on one of my Epiphone Les Paul to the Peter Green configuration.

That's the most difficult part, they seem to really rising in value quickly. Even some of the used ones are going up. Have you thought about a JCM 900/2000?

I'm a lower wattage Marshall guy the older I get anyway
