I have 3 thoughts.

1. The McCaskeys don't plan to fire Pace/Nagy with another year left on their deal.
2. Have the McCaskeys ever fired someone mid-season?
3. Maybe they are already planning on cutting ties with Pace and would like the new GM's input on Nagy

nagys input! The guy was brought here to mold a qb and build the offense. Instead we got the locker room boom and oompa loompa

Because the McCaskeys are incompetent.

Pace should be gone so they can start the prep work at GM. There are 4 teams already working on their GM search.
Lions might have a head start but those bozos also need uncle Ernie to make their pick.

The McCaskey's opened up the wallet for Pace to give them at the very least a playoff team and he's failed miserably.

I think Pace is as good as gone unless Chicago somehow backs into the playoffs.

As for Nagy, no way in hell does it make it passed Black Monday.

Because they like to wait.

Arch rivals? Not anymore man. GB probably looks at the Bears like the Bears look at Detroit. There's no rivalry when you never win. Also, the league is so transient now that players grab ass and high five between plays. They don't hate one another.

I'm a Terp fan and we HATED Duke but they never considered us a rivalry. They had UNC to fight off.

Great points. I just laugh when people talk about rivalries in professional sports. The players couldn't care less about rivalries among fans. They might say the right things on TV and social media about a rivalry for the fans, but at the end of the day they are hired mercenaries and care only about the money. Winning is nice, but they want money.

Pace does not need to be fired for them to start work on a new GM.

The same people thinking the bears are going to fire anyone on this staff mid season are the same people who thought bears would be any better with Mitch back at QB and he would somehow have miraculously started playing well because it’s his final chance or some other ridiculous notion.

y’all need to wake up.

mitch is Mitch. You cannot win with him no matter how many chances he’s given

the bears care more about their employees than their fans or their public perception.

$ is and always will be the number 1 driving factor in any high level decision. And without fans allowed in the stadium this year, it hardly matters whether they win lose

I think they are trying a 5 year apprenticeship approach with Nagy - like the plumbers and electricians union do.

Here is the thing, pace is very young, he made a few mistakes and I feel like he can learn from them, maybe he does need to be fired so he learns from this... or maybe not. maybe he should be given a 2nd chance. But he isn't going to be out of the league.

Floyd was still one of the better players available that draft year, alot of the best players available were at positions we had strengths at.
Every GM misses on QB.

Pace has made up for bad 1st rounders with great signings in later rounds and FA.

I think it Foles comes back he plays and I think the oline has improved a bit then again could it be because defenses fear trubiskys mobility ?

The biggest head scratchers were resigning trevathan and buster skrine signing. No one knew Leno would completely collapse after signing a fucking contract. Massie has actually played better since resigning....

Look back at 2006-2014 draft class

Kyle long (didnt last long but wasn't a bad pickup... )
Kyle fuller ballerr
Pat o'donnell punter
Charles Leno I mean..... Get paid fuck every bears fan amiright?!?
Matt forte retired too early but elite rb
Greg olsen(injured every year for like forever still a good te)
Devin hester hof
Alshon jeffrey(dropped off the earth will probably have a similar trajectory as jordan howard here on out)

Paces draft since 2015-2020
Eddie jackson elite safety
Roquan smith looks like an elite LB
Leonard floyd(he is going to play just as long as kyle long so yes he is here) solid starter for years
Eddie goldman if NT was more recognized he'd be one of the best.
Adrian amos long career underrated
Tarik cohen long career stop going out of fucking bounds.
Adam shaheen (will be a backup role specialist TE for a long time)
James daniels long career
Cody whitehair long career has been a pro bowler
Nick kwiatoski underrated should of been a bear.
Jordan howard journey rb
Bilal nichols will have a solid career
David Montgomery one of the best graded pff RBs... My favorite running style rb underrated as fk
Jaylon johnson looks to be a top CB for years to come
Darnell Mooney pretty sure this guy is gonna be a stud
Anthony miller(might be a stretch)
(Holding out on Cole kmet)

All of these players listed, drafted by pace have out done any other player drafted from 2006-2014 besides the ones listed above them.... Charles Leno and a punter and special teams return specialist are on the other list for fucks sakes. No respect to devin hester my favorite player in the last decade.

That's almost double in 3 less years.

FA pace wins as well but I'm too lazy to keep doing this....

Pace has been good and fucked up on QB head coach. I saw these picks as someone who kinda buys into hype or some sort of obsession into a player they're looking to be apart of this team at times(typically nothing that makes them better football players). He needs to calm down and look more into the details. I'd like to know who was really responsible for our off-season besides QB and HC and if it wasn't pace that guy needs to be our GM.

i'd rather they keep these idiots till the end of the season to get a somewhat higher pick...firing them now means the team will play better giving us a shittier pick
This team is checked out. It doesn’t matter who is coaching them right now.

Great, Pace is young and made some mistakes. Awesome for him to learn on the job while running a franchise into the ground financially. Are you serious? He's built half a team, congrats. Maybe in another 6 years we'll have an offense. GTFO.

His choices aren't the reason things are the way they are it's the failure of those he choose to do the job required. They all had good signs of being successful. QB is the hardest position to draft and evaulate. A HC coming from a tree of coaches who've all had success has failed. I can't put it all on pace like some dumbfucks in here when he has done plenty of good. Don't cherry pick shit and comment like a fucking child with some dumbass response GTFO Special person. Does this get through to you better ?!?

You are not making a very compelling argument here.

I wouldn't want some bad interim HC coming in here now thinking he can win a couple games and stay the HC

Teams with an interm HC always seem to motivate players enough to win a game or two down the stretch they wouldn't have otherwise which would hurt our draft position

Let's let the sinking ship sink so we have a shot at a franchise QB in this draft

His choices aren't the failure...just the people he chose???

Isn't that an extension of his choices???

QB is the hardest position to draft and evaulate.

So let's take the least experienced one with the highest pick. I mean I can forgive him for Mahomes, but it felt like the entire world was telling him Watson.
A HC coming from a tree of coaches who've all had success has failed

So let's hire an inexperienced HC to pair with my inexperienced QB and instead of putting in the time and resources to build the offense around them...I dump all my resources into an All Pro Pass Rusher in an obvious "win now" move.

You might almost say the QB & HC were set up for failure.
I can't put it all on pace like some dumbfucks in here when he has done plenty of good.

This is professional football. Nothing happens all because of one person, but Ryan Pace holds a heavy hand.

I could forgive him for missing on the QB if he didn't literally trade above himself to miss on the QB.

I could forgive him for missing on the HC if he did not blow all his draft capitol and cap space before that HC even coached his first game.

I could forgive him for being a wreckless gambler if it got this team more than a single winning season.

And if the McCaskeys want to keep him around, I can forgive him for all this BS so long as he learns from it. Until then, I am still going to call him a ****ing idiot.
