when you further tarnish your already poor reputation as a team that has no idea what they’re doing, yes, that is a mistake.
tell me the alternative. who gives a **** about reputation if you're not the coach or gm interviewing for the job?

So you're saying the Bears should interview fewer candidates?
Yes. You should know what you're looking for before you bring in candidates. If you want an OC to be the next HC, then bring in OCs....DCs then DCs ...an ex HC then ex HCs......bringing in so many different types tells me you don't know what type you want. How can a 'team' not know this. I mean there are those on this board who know what they want for da Bears, but da Bears don't? Imo they are wasting time and effort. But it's an opinion, I get it.

Who's "you"?

Poles? Warren? McCaskey?

Just get over the idea that there is some Grabowski looking from on high who is gonna bless the next head coach. They're probably gonna suck, brother.

The alternative is to look like a competent organization with a plan, who doesn’t have party planners in their meetings and who don’t have their GMs and HC candidates go through the George McCaskey version of the Kobayashi Maru.

It’s not fans who think this, it’s people in league circles. That matters when it comes to perspective from candidates.

and your solution for changing that is to interview fewer candidates?

How ignorant are you? Don't answer I've already figured it out.....Who brought up Grabowski? You? That's 2nd person plural. Subjective and used as you understood. Meaning that those in charge of organizing the interviews are you. Understand how that works? You actually didn't understand that I meant da Bears FO when I used 'you'? WTF are you talking about? You're having a conversation with yourself in your spaced out brain. The is therapy for you (2nd person singular, subjective case) you may even get a free ride from the government if you (2nd person singular, subjective case) qualify. Thanks for sharing your (2nd person singular, possessive case, possessive determiner) thoughts. If you ever need help with the defining of a junior high word. Please feel free to ask. I'm here to help as much as I can. Thanks for being you. I guess you are a Nagy-ass disciple and just 'be you.'

LMFAO, and here is Willy shit for brains to put in his two cents. Common sense would tell you that if you interview for a job and there are only 3 people interviewing, your chances are must greater than if you are interviewing for a job in a group of 200.

but I digress, that would be common sense, something that you are severely lacking in.
Need I remind you of the coaching hires the Bears have made post Lovie?
R*tard boy comes back with a stupid response.....HOW SHOCKING!!!!!

Is this an example of Chicago tuff? Thanks for the qualifier. BTW... I brought up a person, NOT politics. You assumed politics. That's on you.

We’ll see if the mods think bringing up Kamala is just ‘personal’. You’re another fucking geriatric ‘Tard who seems to be going off your levodopa based on your diatribes in this thread.

Change your diaper, gramps!

There is when you're at that age in life...... as the saying goes..."there's no fool, like an old fool"....sorry to say but there is a time in life you either know or don't and if you don't, it's not going to ever get there...
I don't think the Bears ownership is worthwhile....

That being said doing 10 HC interviews is not an issue....

Are other teams looking for a coach interviewing 20 plus people? To me it shows they do not know what they are looking for, this or it is window dressing to show the media and fans how thorough they think they are. I also suspect they don’t think they will land one of the top guys so they go through this show to say they were so thorough they ended up singling out whoever they end up with as a booby prize as the guy they always wanted.

Lets see what happens, I will expect it to fail until it doesn’t. I am not buying into anything they do anymore until it’s proven to work, after last offseason I am not falling for this shit again.

Feels like something the people running the search are doing to look busy - whether that’s Poles to Warren/Warren to George/George to the board/ whatever. I would hope the Bears could easily pick 4-5 guys and say the best HC for the Bears will be one of these guys. But when you have the terrible or lack of a track record that the Bears decision makers have, you have to “show your work” and do performative 1st round interviews with a ton of people you know aren’t going to win the job so you can tell your direct report that you checked under every stone.

To this point, I believe the Bears have interviewed 9 different candidates for HC. McCarthy's interview today brings that number to 10 and the Bears literally have another 8 or 9 candidates they've requested permission to interview. Meanwhile, the Patriots have already interviewed and hired their guy, Vrabel. I cannot support this strategy which seems cartoonish, amateurish and unserious. I get wanting a wide ranging search and leaving no stone unturned. But the Bears have gone overboard. It's too much. A list of 5 or 6 guys seems normal. 10 to 20 guys? Insanity.

To me this strategy says the Bears have no defined vision of what direction they want the franchise to go in because they've interviewed old guys, young guys, OC's, DC's, pro guys, college guys, (if they interview Freeman which the Bears have expressed interest in doing), former HC's, guys with no HC experience, guys currently in the league, guys currently out of the league.

Maybe the Bears have targeted Ben Johnson but know they cannot hire him until the Lion's season is over, maybe as late as mid-February, and the Bears are just killing time. Or maybe it ends today with the hiring of McCarthy. Can anyone explain to me what the Bears are doing?
Is a pig’s pussy pork?
