Besides Samardzija, why is Zambrano still with the Cubs? This guy is a ticking time bomb. Who knows what he's going to do next time he blows up, or worse yet who he may hurt. I applaud the Cubs for getting rid of Silva, but they should have done the same with the other Carlos as well. He's had way too many chances on the North side. If the Cubs want to get serious about not only contending, but winning a World Series, they need to get rid of Z. He's nothing but a cancer on the organization. Just my $.02.

As I agree with you, expect some resistance by your fellow mates. He should have been dealt this offseason no question. Zambrano needs to get out of there for his sake, and it would also help the cubs bottom line.

Big Z makes way too much money to be cut. Silva is different, he had 1 year left on his deal so it made it a little more bearable to cut him. Zambrano has multiple years left on his deal and he has a NTC as well

Plus with Zambrano, you'd actually be cutting talent. The guy has never had an ERA over 4 and Silva hasn't accomplished that in 5 years. I'll take his skills and some blow ups and live with it. As a matter of fact, I'd have a blow up if the Cubs cut him or traded him for garbage.

You are correct. He makes way too much money, period. He's known more for his bad attitude and negativity than his play on the field. A hothead like that would have no roster spot on my team if I were a manager.

No one of his stints here in Des Moines, addison may have to help me i think it was two years ago but it might even been last year. It was after he had a taste in Chicago and when he didnt think he was coming back ripped the town. Two weeks later he is back and suddenly cant remember saying anything bad about Des Moines when a reporter asked him. Later that week he was seen downtown with a sox hat on.
