Thought when hockey season arrived, this'd be a little more active.

It's a ghost town in here.

It's not hopping with hockey members, we know it's just become cmbm duex.

Plus, there's less moaning about crap moves after two cup wins and that was a great deal of previous comments.

All jokes aside, a few of the posters who use to drive a lot of the traffic in here have gone MIA. That's part of it.

But the city of Chicago sort of ignores hockey until January, anyway. Despite all of the Hawks' success, it's a Bears town first and foremost, and I think that carries over to the fan base.

You'll probably see an uptick in traffic here when the Bears season is officially over or whenever their playoff chances are removed. Until then, it probably will be sleepy in here.

I rarely check in here until after the Bears season. I think that might be now.

Its tough. We are just coming off of winning another cup. There is really no debate yet since this team hasnt really shown one way or the other REAL problems since we are in a sample size. Come Feb this place will be hopping. Even for me, after that playoff run last season my buzz for regular season games has gone down a tad. It will pick up though....and it usually does when there is a debate....nothing to debate right now.

I still haven't quite grasped the concept that the Hawks aren't in the playoffs and it's not the end of the world if they lose a game or two. Also forgotten how long an 82-game season is, compared to last year's 48.

I've had to miss basically every game lately because of classes, so I've been limited here.

I can't talk for anyone else - in my case I have been flat out with work. I think that I am going to be able to get the NHL feeds probably around Xmas. I can watch Saturday night games on my Sunday mornings.

Even from the brief teasers that they let you have -I imagine I might have better insights than I had had in prior years by finally actually being able to check out a game with about a 30 second delay or so... (the "price" you pay for living in Australia is about 30 secs ... mind you considering in my college days I couldn't even regularly get the AM broadcast in -in downstate Illinois. So this is pretty good really.

More to come, but yeah there will be a bit of a lag. It is all on my end.

I hope to get over here and post more, but I have been busy with school, and the night classes seem to fall on the nights we play. Plus the wife said no hockey ticket until football season is over.

NHL just doesn't appeal to a lot of Americans in general. It is the opposite of the NFL in many ways, not made for television and hockey players are generally low-key/all-business. Another reason is knowledge of the game, as in most if not all casual fans don't have enough to discuss the tech aspects.

Let's face it, not many of us can skate...let alone hold a stick properly. Yet quite a few members here have played other sports at various levels.

There just isn't as much to discuss, unfortunately...b/c I love the NHL.

I used to have a good source for live streams on all Hawks games, lost it over a year ago though.

why did you lose WGN
I have WGN, but because I am outside of Chicagoland it is WGN America which for some reason doesn't carry Blackhawks games. So I get things like In the Heat of the Night while Hawks games are on.
